Ariel rejection on milk (both bottle and cup)

Since the last post, there was no improvement but to make the matter worst, she even rejected breastmilk via bottle. AL had not been taking any milk when Mummy at work. She even started to reject yogurt and cheese.

JL tried to eat and feed with her but to no result. JL even tried to share his Enfakid and UHT Box milk with AL also failed. JL somehow knew AL was not taking enough milk that he tried to help up too.

We tried changing bottle, changing milk powders twice and introduce spout and cup. All ended up with failure. We lost all the battle with AL.

The only source of milk for AL for the past few weeks was direct breastmilk at night time and morning before work. The rest of the day would be solid food.

One thing we realize was AL liked cold food like jelly and ice-cream but she didn’t like cold yogurt and cheese.

AL had a fussy taste bud unlike JL. Many weeks ago, PohPoh tried to mix less than ¼ of teaspoon of Enfagrow with 2 oz of breastmilk; AL managed to detect the difference and gave back the bottle to PohPoh. That was to proof how sensitive is her taste bud. As for now, whether it was milk powder or breastmilk in the bottle/cup, she would shake her head, turn her back away and actually ran away as long as it was white colour.

Mummy was tempted to try to make jelly milk. Besides that also to let her try chilled fresh milk which might not be too strong milk smell as milk powder? This would be the last two choices to try next year 2010. Mummy really hoped it would works. Some Mummy comforted Mummy that it was a good thing she didn’t reject when she was below one year old and only recently, so there would be more options and ways to introduce the milk back. Mummy really really hoped so…

Mummy needed to take a break from this stress, maybe just a simple relaxing at home with nice cold drink watching movie on led hdtv peacefully. It was not a high demand, right?

Part 2 Melbourne: Day 1 & 2 (21-22Nov09)

Day 1: Sat 21Nov09

Our flight was at 2135 and we booked a Perdana because normal budget taxi would be too small for us. For this trip, we didn’t use PaPa’s regular taxi driver. The taxi arrived about 630pm to fetch us to the airport. The booth managed to fit one medium bag, one cabin sized bag and a stroller. Mummy sat behind with JL and AL plus a box which consisted of convertible carseat and booster seat.

Yes, we checked-in both carseat and booster seat because car rental was not able to rent us just the carseats on the day which we were not renting the car. There was a center which could rent everything, for example carseats, strollers, baby cot etc but the problem was Mummy got to trouble Aunty LL to collect it during office hour which we didn’t want to trouble her. Since we only had 2 luggage (1 medium+1 cabin size), we opt to just checked-in with the box. PaPa managed to pack all the clothes using several vacuum bags.

We reached KLIA and checked-in. We got the first row reserved because Mummy called earlier to book for bassinet and food for toddler (JL) and baby (AL). Then we had a light bite in McDonald then we went for a slow walk and took the train to another terminal. AL enjoyed this time as compared to the earlier trip to Singapore because this time she could walk and point everywhere.

Once in the airplane, JL was enjoying watching movie. The worst was this flight would transit at Jakarta (just started recently). When the plane landed in Jakarta, everyone sat on board about one hour doing nothing. JL got bored that he slept off while waiting to continue his movie. We requested the air stewardess to keep his food until he woke up.

The meals arrangement was not that good. Once take off from KLIA, we had a heavy meal and than we landed in Jakarta. Then the place took off for Melbourne and we had another heavy meal that Mummy had trouble finishing up the meal. After that, when about to land Melbourne, there was no proper meal and we were quite hungry. JL was ok because his second meal (after the take-off from Jakarta) was kept for him and he only ate before we landed in Melbourne, so the timing was just nice.

AL slept from Jakarta till Melbourne with occasionally woke up for breastmilk.

Day 2: Sun 22Nov09
We landed at Melbourne Airport about 1000. We went through all the customs and got our luggage plus the box of carseat and booster seat. Then we went across to check on our car rentals booking which we would be collecting the next day. Aunty LL was waiting for us at the car rentals area and she even carried two jackets for PaPa and Mummy. After PaPa confirmed the booking, we went to the car park where PaPa unpacked the carseat and booster seat and fixed in Aunty LL’s car.
When we reached Aunty LL’s house, we were greeted by Aunty LL’s lovely and friendly daughter YH. YH greeted us individually, “Hello and welcome Uncle OL, Aunty CW, JL and AL ...” Uncle KM was there greeting us too.

PaPa and Uncle KM together with JL and YH went to the nearby Coles (a chain supermarket like Giant and Tesco) to get some ingredients. Uncle KM cooked lovely pasta for lunch. We had simple and delicious sandwich for dinner.

We didn’t go anywhere and just spent time with Aunty LL’s family. Uncle KM took PaPa for a ride to show the bus stop and tram. He also sent PaPa to buy the tickets for tomorrow ride to the city. Back at home, we also started to think whether we should get any comparison from all the auto insurance quotes we had, which we should add when we collect the car the next day…

That’s the end of Part 2.

Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year

This year Christmas 2009, AL helped up in setting up the Christmas tree with PaPa and KorKor. She would be busy taking the decoration ornaments and passed them to either PaPa or KorKor to hang them on the tree. The Christmas tress was set up on 03Dec09.

AL was so amazed by the decoration that a few times the tree fell down because she was touching the ornaments and was trying to pull them nearer to have a better view. At least 3-4 times, Mummy got to put the tree back up and KorKor would be busy picking up the ornaments and put them back to the tree.

KorKor commented to AL , "Aiya AL, now our tree 'senget' already, please stop making the tree fall again ok? Now KorKor has to put back all the decorations..."pa job listings.

P/s AL had been rejecting any form of milk including cheese and yogurt. Her only source of milk was from direct feed breastmilk when Mummy was at home. This was known as reverse cycle which Mummy hoped it would be a temporary situation. Pray….

She loved to see all the presents under the tree and initially she would keep herself busy by sitting on and between the presents under the tree.

Mummy wished everyone a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year. Hope all your wishes would come true and everyone in good health.
For those who would be looking for new career advancement and etc, Mummy prayed hard for you too. The economy seemed to be improving because quite a lot of job vacancy advertisement in the internet and newspaper which included (just mentioning a few), engineers, accountants and

Blog turned ‘white’ & Credit Card consolidating

Instead of consolidating our trip photos, Mummy was busy over the weekend cracking head on why Mummy’s blog only display white screen. It was due to some bug and the temporary solution was to remove ‘payingpost’ code until the solution is found according to the forum. Mummy hoped this problem would be solved as soon as possible.

Next, was consolidating the credit cards before we would be charged with RM50/25 per Principal/Supplementary. It was a hard decision because each card had its purpose and we did not owe any amount to any bank (every month we made sure all bills were cleared on time) because we used the credit cards carefully by avoiding overspending the money. At time, Mummy would say it was not fair for those we used the credit card facilities wisely. Besides that all our cards are FREE from annual fees. We tried to call some banks but no waiver would be given on Service Tax (hope this was the right term...)...

We listed out the credit cards with all the points and were checking if we can redeem anything before we called to terminate each of the cards. It was such a difficult decision but Mummy was glad that both PaPa and Mummy could come to a same decision which to keep and which to terminate.

Now we needed to check when our card would be charged, made redemption and then termination process. Busy busy busy…

Part 1 Melbourne: Planning before the Trip

After months (not really that long because it was last minute also...) of planning, we must give thanks to Aunty LL, Aunty Linda and Aunty Jazzmint (Mummy hope didn’t miss anyone) tips. Aunty LL was nice or another word, extremely nice to offer her lovely home for us to stay. Trust me, this really save us lots of money especially when AUD rate was high.

Initially we wanted to go during CNY 2010 but that it would be too hot to go that we even a good fan like
Minka Aire might not be able to help. Then, we decided to bring forward the trip to first week of school holidays to avoid peak time in December where it would not only be crowded but also it would cost more due to peak season. PaPa wanted to go for only a few days and Mummy had to negotiate with him to go for minimum one week. After the trip, what Aunty LL (plus other friends too) said that two weeks in Melbourne would be a better option for a relaxing holiday to cover most of the major places.

Aunty LL helped to plan up the itinerary which was useful as a guideline. We tried to book anything ahead. Since it would be considered a short trip, we decided to pick and choose activities which were more suitable for kids. In order to keep the budget low, we planned to cook then pack for our lunch for most of the meal times.

Mummy was still sorting out the photos and counting our total expenses for the trip with PaPa. Mummy hoped to update the trip by next week.

P/s: AL had been rejecting bottle (with breastmilk) for past 2 days when Mummy at work. Past 2 days, she was solely on solid daytime and would only take breastmilk directly at night. For time being, we got to hide the bottles and praying hard that she would accept it soon.

AL getting thinner + lighter…

AL used to be a chubby little girl. Mummy loved her chubby cheeks and always loved to bite her chubby cheeks. On top of that, Mummy used to have trouble carrying her because she was heavy but now…

The throat inflame had made her lose her appetite that she even reject breastmilk via bottle. Some how, Mummy realized that she was getting thinner and lighter when Mummy carried her last night. Her weight lost due to sickness was more significant than those adults who took slimming pills.

Mummy hoped her appetite would improve to avoid anymore weight loss and then she would learn to accept formula during daytime soon. Mummy was and is so sad that Mummy had no mood to write about the trip yet.

‘God, please heal AL fast from her throat inflame so that she will improve her appetite. Mummy also prays that she will learn to accept the formula taste as soon as possible. In Jesus Name, Mummy prays. Amen.’

Busy weekend and sick sick

It was a busy weekend that Mummy had no time to download the photos from the trip. We were busy rushing to get Christmas gifts for our family members. We were almost there but not complete yet.

As Mummy was about to recover from UTI with bad backache, then AL started to develop fever.

This morning, Mummy was a bit late because AL was having fever since yesterday which refused to go down to normal temperature or it took long time to lower the temperature.

AL was playful when we were waiting to see the doctor in the waiting area. However, when we entered the doctor’s room upon seeing all the
medical equipment, she started to cry unlike her brother who would not cry when he see doctor. Sigh… Our friendly family GP doctor found that her throat as inflame and no choice but to give her Zithromax Antibiotic since her fever was still up even after almost three hours from her paracetamol. AL refused to say bye bye to the doctor and turn her back hugging Mummy when we left the doctor’s room.

At office now, Mummy’s mind still in zombie mode – too sleepy but too much work to complete. Help!!!

M.I.A – Summary Updates

This would be a very short updates on our M.I.A.

This was a last minute plan when we had a friend who offered us a place to stay in her house in Melbourne and we got cheap flight tickets. What would you do if you were in our position? Just do for it and think later on the other expenses….

We decided to go on first week of the school holidays to avoid crowd and also peak season prices in December 2009. It was the first time for Mummy, JL and AL to fly to Australia. It was PaPa's second visit to Australia and his first one was to Gold Coast with his previous company trip in 2002. It was quite short one that we might plan to go back in future when the kids were bigger to cover some other places which we didn’t manage to cover. We would want to thanks Aunty LL and her whole family for having us which indeed save us a lot of money on the accommodation especially at this time that the Australian Dollars at the high rate.

After the trip, every one of us was darker due to too many outdoor activities. Mummy fell sick and PaPa was busy preparing for his exam on 03Dec09 (today). PaPa now would be in the exam room and we were praying hard that he would pass his exam.

Mummy needed to take time to calculate all the damages incurred during the trip. Hopefully we would not need to owe the credit card and pay more bank interest. We had not completed our Christmas shopping yet. On top of that, school or kindy would be reopened in less than one month time, Mummy must allocated budget to pay for JL’s kindy fees especially the beginning of the year fees would be usually more including
textbooks and other misc. fees.

We just introduced formula milk to AL on 01Dec09 because Mummy’s freezer stock was running extremely low and Mummy had stopped daytime pumping. AL would still have her breastmilk direct feed at night. After two days, AL was rejecting the formula milk due to the taste differences. We hope AL would get use to it soon by this week. Praying hard….

Please give Mummy some time to compile the photos of the trip and would update you all soon……..

Family Photos…Our Dream

We hardly had any photo shots as family from any professional photographers. It had been our dream to have photo shots taken by professional photographers. Mummy had always admired other people photo shots taken during pregnancy, newborn and family. It would be a dream comes true if we had the chance to have our family photos taken by TwoPixels Photography

Mummy witnessed photos taken recently for Baby Bradley (Aunty Paik Ling’s cutie boy) at her house. Last year, Mummy also got the chance to see them on action taking photos of Baby Justin (Aunty Sasha’s charming boy) which was also in her house. Not forgetting the photos taken for Chin Nee’s pregnancy and twins (newborn) and twins.

It was awesome having two wonderful motherly mummies, Jazzmint and Sue taking the photos because they just had the motherly instinct of knowing how to take the photos naturally. It was something hard to explain but it was the experience which really captured Mummy’s heart especially when Mummy was there looking at them taking the shots and viewing all the outcome of the photo shots.

Another two of mummy’s ex-colleagues too engaged them for their newborn baby girls’ photo shots which were so lovely:

Mummy would love to take the opportunity to wish :

Happy 1st Anniversary to TwoPixelsPhotography

And many many more lovely photo shots….
