EL on 12-12-13

Yes this is way overdue post. Our baby EL turned 1 on 12-12-13. We had a simple brunch on 14-12-13 at KFC near home – just open in Tesco. Initially we wanted to have it at Jalan Universiti where we had both JL and AL first birthday. However due to logistic and time plus since the KFC near home was new, we decided to have it there.

We ordered Jelly Cake no#1 for her birthday and bought her a pink dress from H & M.

The week before, we had a BBQ to celebrate her early birthday with Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong in Adelaide. Sam Yee baked a nice chocolate cake and it was decorated by JL and AL with Sam Yee Cheong’s help.

Being the youngest, she is a baby to everyone. We love you a lot….even though I may not be updating regularly about EL…she has been the apple in our eyes bringing joy to the home…

By next year she will be in nursery even though she will only be 2+…

02Oct2013

I am one year older… age is catching up….I decided to take one day off from my office. Yes, wasted one day annual leave but I just took it…

After sending the kids to their kindy/daycare, I met my DH at a mamak shop for our breakfast date… it has been such a long time since the last time we had our breakfast date. Once we were done with breakfast, I went for my long overdue dental check-up while DH was soo sweet to help to get baking things from the baking shop. My dental check-up was surprisingly fast with just scaling and cleaning up. I went for my facial. The facial lady was so nice to accommodate my last minute request knowing I would not be able to go for regular facial since EL was still young.

It was noon when I drove back to have a fast pumping session and out to 1-Utama with DH to meet up our friend MT for lunch. She spent us lunch since it was my birthday. Since we wanted to see JL in his school, MT jumped into our car to see JL during recess time to pass him RotiBoy. After seeing JL, we were back to 1-Utama for our cuppa of coffee session and continuing our chatting. It was a never ending chat but we got to go as MT needed to fetch her son from tuition. At the same time, JL’s tuition teacher cancelled the tuition for that nite.

We went to BMS Organic shop to get some stuffs since it was my birthday, every RM100 I would get RM10 rebate. Wow…it burnt a big hole in my pocket…

We headed home to wait for JL. I went up to fetch EL to get her ready. Once JL was back, we rushed him to shower and pack his homework. We went to fetch AL from her ballet class. KongKong was faithfully waiting for AL in the dancing centre and he had been doing this on weekly basis. We went to Paradigm Mall for Sushi Zanmai, yes the kids loved japs… EL was good sitting in the high chair eating her biscuits while we ate our dinner.

After dinner, we went to Starbuck thinking to redeem a free cake but unfortunately, I was able to get it 24 hours after purchasing a drink (which I am not clear on the rules). So we bought a hot chocolate for the kids to share while DH and myself shared a free grande frap because DH helped to register my Starbuck’s card. On the way to the car, we went to buy Mille Crepe where the kids chose a slice of mango and durian each.

Since everyone was still full, we ate the crepe at home with our drink.

It was nothing big to shout about but feeling bless to have my DH and kids with me. AL also made 2 not 1 birthday card for me using blue colour because Mummy loves blue.

This morning, my 2 sisters surprised me with a birthday present…a big bundle…hmmm let me check it out tonight….

Last weekend, my parents took me out for dinner in BBQ Plaza….

God’s blessing which is priceless…..

03Aug2013 --- AL’s 5th Birthday with immediate family

We had AL’s birthday at her kindy just one day before her actual birthday. We waited for Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong to come back before having the family mini celebration. KongKong and PohPoh were wondering why and why… Everyone kept silent from them and also from the kids.

It was schooling day (school replacement) for JL. While JL at school, we went to collect AL’s Hello Kitty Jelly Cake. Later, PaPa went to get sate plus several types of fried noodles and rice. While I was at home getting ready the girls and also things at home. We had to keep some of the things from the living room and dining room into our room to make space for the family members coming in later.

AL was wearing Hello Kitty top from H&M and bottom from Isetan. She was excited to see all her puzzles and Lego Friends. Sam Yee bought from AU a wrapped jacket to wear before and after her ballet lesson with a box of Ballet Lego Friends, sharing with Yi Yee.

We love you AL….Blessed Birthday my darling girl…

02Aug2013 – PohPoh’s Belated Birthday

We had PohPoh’s belated dinner at Rakuzen Oasis. We booked a private room. After work, we went there for our dinner. Later, we proceed to our apartment for cake cutting session. The cake was ordered by Sam Yee Cheong when he was in AU. He collected the cake that afternoon. We had family time at our apartment with the kids playing Nerf with Sam Yee Cheong. The kids enjoyed the time spent with Sam Yee Cheong.

AL’s 5th Birthday

Today is AL’s 5th birthday. She greeted the world in less than one hour Mummy admitted to the labour room. PaPa didn’t make it on time to be back from sending KorKor home and Dr Raman almost missed the delivery. She has been the Mei Mei and princess to everyone.
Yesterday, we brought cupcakes and party bags to her kindy. Everybody sang ‘Happy Birthday’ song during assembly. Each of the class would eat their cupcakes during their morning break. AL also had the opportunity to distribute party bags to her 5 years old friend. We got a stationery sets with pencil case each with a small coin purse for girls and a blue angry bird soft toy for boys. Wrapping using GLAD colourful sandwich bags, AL wrote her friends’ name on each of the bag by herself. Aunty Christine made 100cupcakes with the theme requested by AL, Tinkerbell.
Also Papa and Mummy took off from work and KorKor went to daycare later to be in the kindy celebrating AL’s birthday. PaPa, Mummy and EL fetched AL from her kindy at 1230pm. AL was given off from her daycare on that day. We took her for a walk and also visit KorKor at his school during recess time.
That night we had sushi at Sushi King in Sunway Pyramid using RM20 voucher which AL got during her last fieldwork for answering questions.AL also requested puzzles for her birthday that she got 3 puzzles from PaPa and Mummy.
On her actual birthday, we visited KorKor at his school recess because KorKor had school replacement due to haze recently. After KorKor came back from school, we went for another round of sushi at Sushi Zanmai in Paradigm Mall. It was long Q but we made it. After dinner and a short walk at Pay-Less and Popular, we went to redeem free coffee at Pacific Coffee. The vouchers would be expiring end of this month and we exchanged for 3 coffee cups takeaway. Than before going home, we stopped at Vanilla Mille Crepe to try some testing pieces and we bought one slice each of Vanilla and Durian. It was AL’s wish to have cakes with family, just five of us.
We went home to have a few photo shots and we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ song to AL as a family. We watched a family movie while eating the yummy cakes. On top of that, PaPa and Mummy each had 1 ½ cup of coffee.
AL’s birthday celebration would continue in 2 weeks time with a big surprise for her and also KorKor….

AL,
Blessed Birthday and we love you soooo much...
Love, PaPa, Mummy, KorKor and baby EL

JL’s 9th birthday

This is a long overdue post—
Our boy turned 9 on 19th March. We went to Shogun Sunway Pyramid on his actual birthday coincidently his tuition teacher decided to cancel his tuition for that night. Since it was his birthday, he had his meal for free.
Why Shogun? JL love the idea of buffet meal where he can walk and get any food he wants. On top of that, all of us love Japanese food. However, we were quite disappointed with the food which was cold and not very fresh.
On the weekend, we had simple dinner on Sunday night where after JL’s basketball lesson; he went to get satay, fried noodles and fried rice with PaPa.
He had his all-time favourite Lego for his presents including the Chima series. Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong from Adelaide also sent a gift for him. JL had his favourite jelly cake and this time he requested football jelly cake.
He had a great time fixing up his Lego.
We love you a lot JL boy…

Happy Blessed Birthday my Dear @ PaPa….

Today is my Dear’s Birthday…

On 29 September 2012, PaPa went up to the church stage for the first time singing in the worship team. As a wife, I fully supported his desire and seeing him up the stage for the first time, worshipping God was a joyous moment which was hard to describe. I was so thankful to God for blessing us. On the days when he needed to go for his practice and his duty, I would always be grateful to God for giving me the strength to handle the kids alone including driving JL for his activities.

Last nite, I tried to bake a simple chocolate cake but it didn’t turn out as expected… yes I was super disappointed.

I hope I can do something for him today but office work and meeting are keeping me full. Tonight, PaPa will be having his church worship practice. I am still thinking….

The kids and I pray that you will always be happy, healthy and God will grant you all His blessings upon you. We love you…

Happy Blessed Birthday to you,
My Dear @ PaPa......

PohPoh is 57

PohPoh celebrated her 57th birthday yesterday.

We had a very simple dinner at home. We prepared simple spaghetti, salad and mashed potato. JL did a great job helping in making the salad and mashed potato. Yi Yee baked some chickens. Sam Yee made the cake from baking to the decoration with fondant.

The kids made birthday cards and gave PohPoh together with a flower. Thanks to JL for helping his sister in making her card for PohPoh.

All ended early and JL had some time to watch London 2012 Olympic.

AL’s 4th Birthday

Our girl was 4 on 20July. Our baby had grown up…

We had immediate family gathering in our apartment earlier on Saturday 14July2012. It was simple fried noodle, fried rice, satay and Jelly Cake. The kids loved Jelly Cake. The theme was Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). The last trip to Hkg Disney in May2012, we got her a princess dress and she chosen pink color Sleeping Beauty. She was wearing her princess dress walking around and the tiara which we got it free from McD.

On her actual birthday which was on Friday, we ordered 100 cupcakes to celebrate in the kindy. The extra was for immediate family and also her ballet class friend later in the evening. She was too shy to change into her princess clothes and decided to be in her kindy uniform. She was a very confident girl but she was extremely shy in front of crowd during her birthday. She was trying to kneel down that I had to be next to her during the whole session.

After her kindy celebration, she followed us back and we informed the teacher that we would collect her homework later in the evening from the daycare centre. We had McD for lunch. After a short walk, we went home to let her take her short nap before her baby ballet class.

We managed to get individual plastic cup to pack the cupcakes individually for her friends and teacher. AL wore her socks and shoes in the class by herself. It was an emotional moment when I saw her having fun interacting with teacher and friends in the ballet class. During the end of the lesson, we let her distribute the cupcakes to her friends. Her teacher and friends sang her a birthday song.

During her ballet lesson, PaPa went to fetch KorKor from his school. After baby ballet lesson, we went to shopping mall for AL’s birthday dinner just 4 of us. We decided to try Sushi Zanmai. It was a long queue but the kids were sitting down quietly listening to their iPod. JL had his iPod last year from Yi Yee for Christmas and also doing well in school exam. AL got iPod from PaPa and Mummy for this year birthday. We got a good deal of about 50% for a new iPod from a great friend.

After dinner, we walked around Cotton On and also Toys r us. Last but not least, the family all time favorite dessert, Snowflakes. We ordered the combo promotion where one of the combo for the day was the kids’ favorite, Sea Amber Jelly.

The following day was Saturday and it was her last celebration in church as she would be moving to kids’ service with her KorKor. She was excited to change to her princess clothes with tiara but turned shy in front of everyone. She had 40 cupcakes for church celebration. On that day, her teacher gave her a graduation letter to promote her from toddler to kid. The teachers would miss her a lot because they had seen her grown up so much from 1+ to now 4 years old. She had been a very active and confident little girl to them.

Next year onward, AL would only have celebration with family and in kindy only. It was as usual simple with no big party. The kids especially AL was happy.

Blessed birthday to our Princess AL…. We love you a lot…..

JL’s 8th Birthday

JL turned 8 on 19Mar2012. We had a simple family teatime on 18Mar2012 at 4pm. I baked some puff and chocolate muffins. PaPa made herbs soda. We had KongKong, PohPoh, MahMah, Tai Pak+family, Yi Yee, Sam Yee+SamYee Cheong, Aunty Angie and Aunty Pat came for the teatime.

For this year, JL wanted basketball jelly cake.

JL had some gifts and angpau.

On his actual birthday, we let him missed his morning anching class. We took him for shopping in Pyramid using his angpau money and we had lunch McD. After that, we sent him to school.

Than we fetch AL from her daycare earlier to meet her KorKor during recess time. While waiting for KorKor’s school to over, we had our time just PaPa+Mummy+AL.

That evening, we fetched JL from school and went to 1U for our family birthday dinner, just four of us. We decided to try Watami the new Japanese restaurant.

Happy 8th Birthday to you JL….

My 2011 birthday

My birthday was on 02 Oct and it took a long time for me to write down. It was a very simple celebration where my sister booked for Sukiyaki buffet in Pavilion KL on my actual birthday 02 Oct Sunday. After dinner, we gathered in our apartment for cake eating session. It was strawberry chocolate cake. My sisters and BIL presented me with a lot of blouses which I could wear in office without having to iron.

My beloved hubby and kids gave me big kisses and hugs just after midnight. I had lots of birthday wishes via sms, whatsapp, FB etc… All these wishes from family and friends were far more precious than cash or even October birthstone opal jewelry. I feel so blessed.

AL’s 2011 Party Bags

This year, since AL wanted Angry Bird, we went to Night Market hunting for some small items related to Angry Bird. We managed to get stickers, rulers and sharpener.

It was a very small and simple party bag consisted:

  • 1 x sticker
  • 1 x ruler or sharpener
  • 2 x AL’s favorite jelly
  • 1 x Japanese biscuits
  • 1 x balloon

We packed quite a lot to cover her kindy classmates and also her church friends. We found the idea to use the Glad Rainbow bags from Barbara. Thanks Barbara for the idea…

AL’s 3rd Birthday – Part 2 (20July2011)

It was her actual birthday. PaPa and I took day off to collect her cupcakes for her kindy. Since she had only a handful of classmates, we had the mini celebration together with KorKor’s Anching’s classmates who were just upstairs of the kindy.

After a simple birthday song, eating cupcakes and distribution of mini party bags, the kids had their snack time. PohPoh got the kindy Aunty to cook fried noodles. AL left her kindy early with PaPa and me after getting permission from her teacher.

We went home and got AL changed. We went to MidV where she requested for white pasta. We had her birthday lunch in TGIF where she got her free white pasta and also free cake. She was so shy when the group of staffs in TGIF was singing birthday song. The service there was not impressive including when one of the staff promised AL for a balloon but it ended up we need to remind him when AL was asking where her balloon was.

We walked around MidV and went to the mini amusement park in Jusco. AL preferred to play with the car without putting the chip. We had to keep all the chips we bought and maybe she would be willing to play with KorKor. Next stop was Toys R Us where AL was having fun with the toys.

After MidV, we went home to wait for KorKor. Our dinner with KorKor was at Sakae Sushi in Sunway Pyramid. AL had her favorite Ramen and Edamame. We walked for a while and back home because both kids had school to go the next day.

AL, hope you had a happy day… We love you always…. Happy Birthday to you our princess….

AL’s 3rd Birthday – Part 1 (16July2011)

Yes, she is already 3.

I still remember it was less than 1 hour when I went into the labor room when she came into the world on 20July2008 at 1218. PaPa didn’t make it on time to witness it because everything happened too fast.

She was different than her KorKor. However, she got all the love and attention from her KorKor who loved her a lot. For time being, she was the princess to everyone being the only rose among the 3 (soon 4) immediate cousins. PaPa’s elder brother (Tai Pak) would be having his 3rd boy this September and so far no new addition on Mummy’s family side yet.

AL’s celebration started earlier. On 16July2011, we collected AL’s cupcakes from Aunty Jo for her church toddler celebration at that evening. Yes, she specifically requested for Angry Bird theme few months ago. It was very simple just cupcakes and small party bags.

After that, we went to SJ to collect her Angry Bird Jelly. She wanted a blue Angry Bird Jelly. She loved Jelly more than Cake. I found this website since last year and AL remembered her pink Jelly Cake we got her when she was 2. I was happy to find that it had blue Angry Bird. Sharon from JellyCakeHouse helped to add addition base at the bottom of the blue Angry Bird with some extra cost. It was indeed very heavy.

It was a simple regular immediate family gathering in our small apartment. The guests had simple food which was jelly cake and also Haji Samuri Sate.

AL was blessed with all the wonderful grandparents, uncles and aunties who showered her (and also JL) during all the birthdays and Christmas. She had a lots of wonderful gifts that she was confused that night on which one to play first. She had all she wanted including Nerf Gun, Miss Mouse, Vanity Table, beautiful clothes and also Angry Birds soft toy.

To be continue….

JL's 7th Birthday

Last Saturday 19Mar was JL’s birthday. This was the first year he would not be having so many cakes like the previous years. We discussed with him that from now onward, he would only have 1 cake. Usually he would have 3 cakes for family, kindy and church. However, it is difficult to bring cake to his primary school and also his children church as it involved more kids. He was agreeable and he also said AL would still have 3 cakes like he used to. We were glad that he was big enough to understand.

We decided to order Swensen’s Ice-Cream Cake for him. JL chose Chocolate BlackForest. He wanted jelly cake but PaPa said he would make one jelly just for him. We let him choose the flavor of the jelly he wanted.

He wanted a bicycle as his previous bicycle was too small. AL was happily taking over the bicycle. Coincidently, my friend was on duty travel to Taipei and was willing to bring back a bicycle for JL. I didn’t know that bicycle in Taiwan was cheap until PaPa informed me. My friend landed in KLIA at noon just one day before his actual birthday. PaPa and I went to KLIA to collect and hide at Sam Yee’s apartment before we fetched the kids back home from their grandparents’ apartment. Sam Yee Cheong was at home waiting for us to bring the bicycle to hide.

JL was busy on his birthday where he attended his Tae-KwonDo in the morning and afternoon he went for his BeyBlade Competition in the Curve (which he made everyone proud of his achievement… another post to share…). After the competition, we went to evening church service. We had a simple dinner in Kenny Rogers and collected the Ice-Cream Cake. Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong helped us to buy Haji Samuri Sate.

KongKong, PohPoh, MahMah, Aunty PohPoh, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong gathered at our apartment for supper birthday. Yi Yee couldn’t make it as she was attending a wedding. Tai Pak and whole family were in Cameron Highlands. JL was so happy opening his presents that he hardly ate his birthday cake. The highlight of the presents was his GIANT and NERF. Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong gave me a big NERF gun. Besides that, he also got a lot of wonderful gifts and angpau from his grandparents.

He was busy fixing his GIANT with PaPa and NERF with Sam Yee Cheong.

AL also had presents even though it was not her birthday. While JL was posing with his new GIANT, AL also didn’t want to miss posing with her KorKor’s small bicycle.

However, we still owe him Sakae Sushi makan just four of us…this weekend….

JL’s Surprise Birthday Gift

JL would be 7 on 19March201. My friend was great to assist to bring back JL’s surprise birthday gift which was known as ‘GIANT’ by JL.

My friend landed on 18March2011 at KLIA while PaPa and I went to airport to collect the present. Upon collecting, we went to Sam Yee’s apartment to hide the present.

Guess what is it? I know some of you already knew what is ‘GIANT’… Would load the photos of JL’s birthday on the next post…

PaPa’s 2010 Birthday

On Saturday 06Nov2010, after church, we had dinner in a Chinese restaurant in TTDI where PaPa had his favorite sweet and sour pork. We had dinner with KongKong, PohPoh, Yi Yee, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong. After that, we went to Sam Yee’s apartment for cake cutting and PaPa got a present from Sam Yee, Sam Yee Cheong and Yi Yee a car modulator to play MP3 songs.

The old modulator was put in Kancil and this new one would be for Iswara. It was a much better than the old modulator which had a remote control and also able to continue song from where it stopped plus a bigger digital screen. JL played Wii with Sam Yee Cheong. They played golf, tennis and bowling.

On Sunday 07Nov2010, we had lunch in another Chinese restaurant in Kepong and again PaPa had his favorite dish, sweet and sour pork. This time we had lunch with MahMah, Tai Pak and his family, Sam Sok and Aunty Pat.

We went home to rest and dinner time we went out just 4 of us to Sakae Sushi Subang Parade, our family favorite place. Since it was 1st Sunday of the month, JL had a free kid meal. After our family dinner, we went walking around Subang Parade then across Empire Square where the kids wanted to go- Toys r us. AL even know how to read the Toys r us logo because when we were on Federal Highway, she was pointing at Empire Square and telling us ‘Go Toys r us’.

On Monday 08Nov2010, was PaPa’s actual birthday and JL woke up early to surprise PaPa with a slice of Chocolate Banana cake from Secret Recipe. He walked with the candle lighted on the cake and sang to PaPa who was still sleeping. Then PaPa woke up to eat the cake with JL. Mummy sent JL to kindy and that day Mummy took off. Besides it was PaPa’s birthday, Mummy also needed a break.

Morning, PaPa did some work at home while checking the online auction in case any interesting things in auction. Later about 9.30am, Mummy followed PaPa in the car to KL to get his work done then we went to Jalan Pasar to hunt for car speaker because one of the Iswara car speakers had already spoilt for quite some time.

After KL, we went to PJ State to Telekom to get our free cordless phone because we upgraded the apartment to unlimited streamyx and new combo where calling any local house or office Telekom lines in Malaysia would be free. Then we went to our regular spare part shop to get Kancil engine oil and oil filter because the next maintenance would be done by PaPa. At the spare part shop also we sold Kancil old battery for RM10.

From PJ State, we went to check our small mini safe deposit box then proceed to 1Utama. We had our lunch just 2 of us in Dave’s because it was weekday lunch, the pasta was 50%. We had one Ceaser’s Salad and one olive oil pasta. It was lovely meal. After lunch, we went for a fast shopping and managed to get some Christmas gifts for some friends’ kids.

Then we went home and fetch the kids early because PohPoh was not feeling well. PaPa and Mummy took a short powernap while the kids conquered the living room.

Blessed Birthday to you PaPa….

Happy Birthday to Mummy

Mummy is one year older now since 2nd October 2010. On 1st October 2010, we had dinner with KongKong, PohPoh, Yi Yee, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong at

Mei Chi Xuan 美食轩海鲜饭店
No. 32A1, Jalan 5/10,
PJU 5 Dataran Sunway,
Kota Damansara,
47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

After a heavy dinner we went to Sam Yee’s apartment to have cake. Sam Yee ordered a special cake with combinations of Mummy’s two favorites flavour which were cream cheese and mango. The cream cheese was specially requested for light cream cheese.

KongKong and PohPoh gave Mummy a beautiful card, angpau and a book. Yi Yee, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong gave Mummy a pair of white shoes and a matching clutch bag.

On the actual birthday, after many years, Mummy decided to go for a facial at 8am. Yes, 8am. Mummy went to this facial place where Yi Yee and Sam Yee had been going for many years. The price was really reasonable. A basic facial was only RM35. According to Yi Yee and Sam Yee, even with treatment, it would not cost more than RM100. Where to get this price? What Mummy like was this facial was only done by the same person unlike in centre which was not only more expensive but also different person would do the facial every different time. She would only take one customers at each hour slot. The facial was about 1 hour 30 minutes.

After the early morning facial, back to home. JL had his music lesson after lunch while Mummy attended a course sent by company. The course ended at 5pm and Mummy’s colleague was nice to drive Mummy to church where Mummy would meet up with PaPa, JL and AL for our regular Saturday evening service.

That night for dinner, we decided to have our own family dinner. Initially we wanted to go to Friday’s but unfortunately it was full and we had to wait for 30 minutes. Then we walked to Italiannies because we didn’t go there for many years. However, we were regret because the service and food were lousy. The only food which Mummy enjoyed was the Masala Mushroom Soup. Mummy told PaPa that going to Sakae Sushi would be much better than this place. The kids only enjoyed the birthday cake which was a complimentary by the restaurant.

While PaPa brought the kids to Toys R Us, Mummy happened to meet an ex-colleague whom happened to be in the shopping mall too. We took some time catching up with each other and found out that he had set-up his own business which was doing well.

While walking to Italiannies, we met with Aunty Ruth in Baskin Robbins with Cheryl and Ryan. They were having a whole day feast of eating because it was Uncle Yong Hui’s birthday. Yes, we both shared the same birth date but different year… 02 Oct. Mummy had another friend in Penang (he was working in BHL Bank with Mummy when Mummy was there during Practical Training) who also shared the same birth date.

That was how Mummy spent Mummy’s birthday day…

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes Mummy received via sms and also FB....Thanks for remembering Mummy's Birthday....
