Happy Blessed Birthday my Dear @ PaPa….

Today is my Dear’s Birthday…

On 29 September 2012, PaPa went up to the church stage for the first time singing in the worship team. As a wife, I fully supported his desire and seeing him up the stage for the first time, worshipping God was a joyous moment which was hard to describe. I was so thankful to God for blessing us. On the days when he needed to go for his practice and his duty, I would always be grateful to God for giving me the strength to handle the kids alone including driving JL for his activities.

Last nite, I tried to bake a simple chocolate cake but it didn’t turn out as expected… yes I was super disappointed.

I hope I can do something for him today but office work and meeting are keeping me full. Tonight, PaPa will be having his church worship practice. I am still thinking….

The kids and I pray that you will always be happy, healthy and God will grant you all His blessings upon you. We love you…

Happy Blessed Birthday to you,
My Dear @ PaPa......

Our 15th year…as couple

Today 13April marked our 15th year as couple since 1997. We knew each other a few months in poly and decided to get into serious relationship. It was just about 1 month into relationship that we split direction (not separated but location) because we need to further our studies as we promised to our parents and to ourselves.

I went to south to get my degree and when I came back to work in central, DH was in north finishing his degree. After about 5 years of ups and downs, connecting only via daily snail mails, 2-3x a week public telephone and occasional meet up during holidays, we met in central as working adults.

We decided to tie our knot on the following year in 2003. Initially we wanted to tie our knot on the same day we started as couple but the date was not on Saturdays and also it was not during school holiday. So we decided to get married about 1 ½ months later… so in 1 ½ months time we would be our 9th year as hubby-wife.

PaPa’s very own guitar

When I knew PaPa in poly, he was carrying a guitar which belongs to his father. He was learning by himself on how to play the guitar chords. All his hard work paid off. He was the only person among his brothers who learn to play guitar.

He wanted to get his very own guitar for many years but never materialize due to cost. I also wanted him to get a reasonable good one. We begin to attend CG regularly since December 2010. PaPa was the only guitarist playing for CG.

Last month, we went to CG Prayer Retreat and coincidently, Yamaha was having sales in TheCurve. PaPa called me at office asking whether he should get it. It was almost RM 1200 after 50%. The guitar also can be plugged to the speaker which was useful for the prayer retreat.

It was bad damage on our expenses but good thing we still managed to survive without having to get any payday loan. Praise the God for providing us. It was priceless seeing PaPa playing the guitar during CG and at home worshipping God. Yes, it was priceless...

I am so happy that PaPa got his guitar at last…

New Watch for us…

During my last trip to Dubai, I got PaPa and I Tissot watch. We both had our first branded watch back in 2003 after our wedding. Our first pair (which was also Tissot) cost us less than RM 1000 which we bought in Changi Airport.

When I was going to Dubai, PaPa asked me to check out if we can get another pair for ourselves. I wanted to get a different brand for ourselves but other brand was way too expensive. Prices had gone up and our budget burst.

I ended up buying the same model which was slightly above our budget. Instead of buying from Dubai Airport, I ended up buying from KLIA on the way back because it was cheaper. The pair of watch was almost RM 1300 (after 30%). The new pair was the same model as our old one with the two main differences

• Titanium Strap (which was lighter)
• Black screen (our previous one was white).

We preferred simpler design so that it can be worn either business or casual. So, my manager and I didn’t shop at Dubai because the things were not that cheap (besides having no time). My friend, who would be going to LA next month for duty travel, was already getting a whole long list of shopping things to get for friends and family, from clothes like apple bottom, Oash Kosh and branded handbags especially Coach. I hope she would not get charge for excess baggage when she came back from LA.

PaPa’s new notebook

After many years, at last PaPa’s notebook died. He tried to repair but to not result. He brought his notebook to the expert and found that it was the motherboard that spoilt. It was not worth the price to repair.
Yesterday, PaPa went to get himself a new notebook because he needed one urgently for his work.  He noticed quite a lot of other brands and many technology gadgets for education or another name mimio.
It was my first time hearing the word mimio. Mimio is a brand name of a line of technology products with the main aim for the education market.
I hope PaPa enjoy his new notebook purchased.

V-Day..2011

Our V-day was with the kids. We waited for JL to come back from school to bath, take his dinner and finish up his homework. Than off we go to Sunway Pyramid. It was hard to find parking as many couples were having their candlelight dinner there. It must a popular venue. After many rounds, we found a car park. Since it was late, we decided to let the kids walking around and the kids got McD sundae. PaPa bought two to be shared by four of us. Romantic?

After getting a few things, we decided to go home to order food from shop near apartment which offered free delivery to our doorstep. The kids were tired and zzzz off easily. By the time they slept, we had our V-Day dinner by eating ‘Tomyan’, Vegetables and Chicken ‘Petai’ in front of the television. It was economical than going for all the cruise deals. Anyway, we would to go for a short cruise in future if we had the opportunity.

Happy V-Day to all of you...

Morning schedule…

Now with both kids going to kindy and ‘An Ching’ class in the morning, Mummy has to force to wake up earlier. However, it is still not early enough. Mummy hopes to be able to wake up much earlier in order to get more things done. If possible  Mummy will love to have time to go to the apartment small gym to get some workout and do some simple workout at the playground with sit-up and pull up bar. PaPa will help up to get the kids’ ready which helps a lot.

PaPa’s 2010 Birthday

On Saturday 06Nov2010, after church, we had dinner in a Chinese restaurant in TTDI where PaPa had his favorite sweet and sour pork. We had dinner with KongKong, PohPoh, Yi Yee, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong. After that, we went to Sam Yee’s apartment for cake cutting and PaPa got a present from Sam Yee, Sam Yee Cheong and Yi Yee a car modulator to play MP3 songs.

The old modulator was put in Kancil and this new one would be for Iswara. It was a much better than the old modulator which had a remote control and also able to continue song from where it stopped plus a bigger digital screen. JL played Wii with Sam Yee Cheong. They played golf, tennis and bowling.

On Sunday 07Nov2010, we had lunch in another Chinese restaurant in Kepong and again PaPa had his favorite dish, sweet and sour pork. This time we had lunch with MahMah, Tai Pak and his family, Sam Sok and Aunty Pat.

We went home to rest and dinner time we went out just 4 of us to Sakae Sushi Subang Parade, our family favorite place. Since it was 1st Sunday of the month, JL had a free kid meal. After our family dinner, we went walking around Subang Parade then across Empire Square where the kids wanted to go- Toys r us. AL even know how to read the Toys r us logo because when we were on Federal Highway, she was pointing at Empire Square and telling us ‘Go Toys r us’.

On Monday 08Nov2010, was PaPa’s actual birthday and JL woke up early to surprise PaPa with a slice of Chocolate Banana cake from Secret Recipe. He walked with the candle lighted on the cake and sang to PaPa who was still sleeping. Then PaPa woke up to eat the cake with JL. Mummy sent JL to kindy and that day Mummy took off. Besides it was PaPa’s birthday, Mummy also needed a break.

Morning, PaPa did some work at home while checking the online auction in case any interesting things in auction. Later about 9.30am, Mummy followed PaPa in the car to KL to get his work done then we went to Jalan Pasar to hunt for car speaker because one of the Iswara car speakers had already spoilt for quite some time.

After KL, we went to PJ State to Telekom to get our free cordless phone because we upgraded the apartment to unlimited streamyx and new combo where calling any local house or office Telekom lines in Malaysia would be free. Then we went to our regular spare part shop to get Kancil engine oil and oil filter because the next maintenance would be done by PaPa. At the spare part shop also we sold Kancil old battery for RM10.

From PJ State, we went to check our small mini safe deposit box then proceed to 1Utama. We had our lunch just 2 of us in Dave’s because it was weekday lunch, the pasta was 50%. We had one Ceaser’s Salad and one olive oil pasta. It was lovely meal. After lunch, we went for a fast shopping and managed to get some Christmas gifts for some friends’ kids.

Then we went home and fetch the kids early because PohPoh was not feeling well. PaPa and Mummy took a short powernap while the kids conquered the living room.

Blessed Birthday to you PaPa….

Troubleshooting computers

PaPa graduated as an mechanicel engineer but worked in computer shop for some time to pick up some skill to troubleshoot computers. When he joined his first company, his unwritten job description was to help to maintain the staffs’ notebook and desktop plus company’s server.

Even now, his own business notebook which had been down for almost one week was managed to set-up back by him. Maybe he would need to update his knowledge now as he was busy with his work that he almost lost touch of his skill. Would he be able to troubleshoot an Industrial pc?

At last… overhauling the car…

At last, PaPa decided to send our old faithful Iswara to be overhauled this morning. It would take almost one week to get it done. For this whole week, PaPa would be sending and fetching Mummy to office since we would be down with one car. The mechanic asked PaPa to collect on Saturday but PaPa decided to give them extra two days so that the car would be properly overhauled. PaPa wanted him to do a proper job than rushing the mechanic. We hope after the change on the car seats plus with this overhaul process, the car would be in much better shape. PaPa was sure that the bill would not be too expensive since no Ferrari parts would be used.

PaPa’s small business…

PaPa was having a small company with some small business opportunity which was slowly growing. Mummy prayed that it would increase more to sustain our family. We never dream of having a big company because bigger company meant bigger headache and more time spent on the company which would totally against PaPa’s objective. PaPa’s aim on this small business was to be able to sustain the family plus having more flexible time with the family.

PaPa’s Travelling Month…

Last month PaPa was in outstation for most of the time. The longest was in Langkawi and Penang. Just few months back, we managed to get a good deal Lenovo notebook at about 50-60%. This notebook came with built-in camera. Since PaPa’s working notebook had built-in camera too, he decided to Skype with the kids every night instead of calling via the phone.

The kids were excited and fascinated when they could talk and see PaPa via notebook. AL was even dancing around to show to PaPa.

From Langkawi, PaPa got us come chocolates especially dark chocolate which was Mummy favorite. There was nothing much to get from Langkawi even though the prices of cigars were cheap but none of us smoke. Besides that, we were tempted with Corningware, Correlle and Pyrex but he had enough of Corningware and Pyrex to use. However, we planned to get Correlle once all our plates and bowls gave way which we were not sure when because our kids had not broke any, so it would take ages before we could get Correlle.

From Penang, PaPa didn’t get anything because the hotel located further than his work place as compared to Langkawi where the hotel was just next to the work place. However, everyone was happy that he came back safely because it was a whole month of travelling around Peninsular Malaysia for PaPa. Within a month, PaPa went to Penang, Alor Setar, Langkawi, Ipoh, Kota Bharu, Kuala Terengganu and Melaka.

Old car but …

Our old car was old but quite well maintained because the car was being maintained every 5000 km. PaPa had been diligently keeping track on parts replacement and so far he was happy with the job done by his current mechanic who was as good as Dallas auto repair . The current mechanic did a good job from timing belt, tires to brake job replacement. It was a good thing that the parts were quite reasonable. If not, we would sure face problem paying for the parts if we were to own a more expensive car like Chevrolet Silverado.

Since the car had not gave us any major problem even though it was almost 11 years old, we decided to keep it rather than selling it off as the price to sell it less than RM10k. The mechanic suggested us to overhaul the whole car which would take only less than RM1k.

PaPa and Mummy still thinking over it and might go for that option as it was a cheaper option for next few years than paying for a new car installment. Besides that, with the car in good condition, it would be not worth to sell it off or in another word too ‘sayang’ to sell it off. We might be able to sell even higher as scrap metal when the car really totally breakdown which would take many more years to happen. Hopefully…

What do you think?

PaPa’s Back update

PaPa had been seeing physiotherapist 2-3 times. He said the physiotherapist did massage on him while teaching him tips to DIY at home. The physiotherapy room consisted of massage tables and prior appointment was required due to high volume of patients that it would be impossible to have any walk-in patients. Besides that he had also did his own exercise which was being taught by the physiotherapist at home. Once in a while, PaPa also swam often in the apartment pool to strengthen his back. This week PaPa would be having his follow-up with the specialist to see his progress. So far PaPa’s back pain had reduced a lot and we hope to hear a good report from the specialist.

Dust Allergy

JL and PaPa had allergy to dust which caused their nose to get congested. A lot people got mistaken that JL got flu and cold but in actual facts, he was having nose congestion due to dust allergy. We invested a few years ago dehumidifier to help to curb the dust in the apartment during the bad hazy days. It did help with continuous vacuuming the whole apartment.

Happy PaPa's Day 2010

PaPa,
Happy Blessed PaPa’s Day to you
from us,
Mummy, JL & AL.
We love you and pray that God will continue to bless you in your health, career and everything...

Here was the card made and created by JL for this year PaPa’s Day…For lunch, Mummy cooked a very simple food and we ate together. Mummy just fried a fish, steam vegetables and fried egg omelets. Mummy was not a good cook but good thing PaPa and the kids were not too fussy.

We had our dinner together with KongKong, PohPoh, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong at Lot 10 Food court. Then we took the opportunity to walk around Lot 10 and also the rooftop since we hardly visit KL Town.

PaPa’s Back Problem

PaPa had been having very bad backache that he had to take high dosage of painkiller. It was so painful that it badly effecting his appetite too. When Mummy went to visit Mummy’s gynae for regular pap smear, he recommended his friend from the HUKM Specialist clinic. Mummy’s gynae took the trouble to contact his friend.

PaPa was diagnosed with central disc prolapsed by the specialist after the MRI. The specialist was trying to avoid surgery by asking PaPa to go for physiotherapy first. PaPa went for his first one last week and the next would be next week. In between, PaPa would go for swimming and do the exercise which was advised by the physiotherapist. By end of this month, PaPa would be checked again by the specialist.

We prayed that with the regular exercise, it would strengthen PaPa’s back. Hopefully the insurance would give us 100% reimbursement. There were many type of insurance now which includes mechanical breakdown insurance, medical coverage for unborn child insurance and many others. It looked like Insurance industry had expanded to cover almost every part of our lives unlike those days; insurance covered only car and medical.

PaPa and Mummy’s Day—31 May 2010

Yesterday was PaPa and Mummy's Day. PaPa went into the office to get some work done while Mummy took KongKong to the Immigration Department to renew his passport. Surprisingly, AL woke up early and followed KorKor to kindy. PaPa then went to check out the physiotherapy centre before going back home. Mummy would explain later on why PaPa needed physiotherapy.

Mummy had an early drink at 11:30am with Aunty Sharon after fetching AL from kindy back with KongKong at 11am. After that, PaPa joined us for a drink. From a drink, PaPa and Mummy went for a movie. If was our first time watching movie together after so many years, maybe since we had JL back in 2004. We decided to catch the Robin Hood movie at 2:30pm. Mummy had a hotdog for lunch and popcorns. Mummy’s 2010 resolution to be healthy was a failure that day that even taking apidexin would not help. Sigh…

Then, we went walking around and end up buying some clothes for the kids from FOS Kids at a bargain which included a nice red shirt for JL’s Chinese New Year 2011 priced less than RM20. After FOS Kids, we went to Tesco to get some vegetables for the kids. We kept all the things into the car and went to IKEA for our simple dinner.

Dinner was a bit different that day because we usually go to the IKEA restaurant with the kids. Instead of sitting near the kids’ area, we sat on a high chair next to the window just two of us. That day also instead of Mummy and AL sitting on the table and while PaPa and JL went to buy the food, PaPa and Mummy went and get the food together.

It was kinda of different for us going out alone just two of us after so many years getting married with kids. We were so used to bring the kids wherever we go. That day, Mummy got to admit that Mummy did miss the kids a lot especially seeing other kids running around.

Even though if was nothing special but it was a good few hours spending time just two of us.

Happy 7th Anniversary

Today is PaPa and Mummy’s 7th Anniversary. After 7 years having two kids and how time flies... Even thought we do not have fantastic life like others such as staying on a nice landed property and driving nice car, Mummy is always happy seeing the two kids happy and healthy. There is nothing much Mummy can demand more because at least we have a roof over our head and a car to move us from one place to another. Age is catching up that Mummy has been putting moisturizing face cream daily.

Today morning Mummy will bring KongKong to do passport than from lunch time till dinner will be a time for PaPa and Mummy to spend time together. We have not plan anything yet and most probably a simple lunch and dinner plus walking around.

My Dear…. Happy 7th Anniversary…. Love, Sayang
