Hot Wheels Walk Track 2

Yes the kids got another Hot Wheels Wall Track to play. We got the box earlier but JL was busy as his exam was around the corner. The box was parking in JL’s room waiting for the kids to open it up and have fun.

The kids enjoyed the last Hot Wheels Wall Track including my little girl too…

When we told the kids it was time to open the box, they were super excited and waiting anxiously to try out.

It was our family time while I took some photos, PaPa assisted the kids in setting up the track on the wall. JL was busy reading the manual while AL trying to help by passing the parts to PaPa.

Since the previous wall track was in JL’s room, we decided to set this one in the living room just above the kids’ bean bags.

This wall track was different from the previous one which the kids tried earlier. Besides requiring batteries, it was an interesting fast moving which went in loop non-stop. JL explored with one car and later tried out with more cars. After that, he taught AL how to play with this new wall track. Both of them would be so engrossed seeing the cars running so fast in loop. It was so fast that I was unable to capture the cars movement.

Both had fun especially JL after all the busy exam weeks. It was a good way to reward him. Well done Hot Wheels in creating such an interesting yet interactive game for the kids.

Hot Wheels Walk Track

It was last month when I went to collect Hot Wheels Walk Track for review. We were busy during school holidays that it was towards end of school holidays that we managed to open up to explore it.

I thought only my boy would like it instead my little girl was excited too. PaPa helped them to set up in JL’s room wall. It was quite simple and fast.

JL was managed to bring out all his hot wheels cars collection to be tested on the track.

Both JL and AL took turns to play and they had a lot of fun. AL as a girl loved the Hot Wheels Wall Track too. To see the cars going round and land on the floor was really fun.

Currently the track is still on the wall and JL would play with it. Seeing the cars coming down the track with some stunts really excite him. It is a good, short and fast way for him to distress from his school works.



Book Review : Paris goes to Los Angeles

This book 'Paris goes to Los Angeles' had a lot of interesting illustrations, making it a cheerful way of presenting about Los Angeles to kids. It was a diary written by Paris on her trip to Los Angeles with her family meeting her cousins, Jenna and Sarah. This trip was also to celebrate her Uncle Phil’s 50th birthday.

Paris together with her parents and sisters, Liberty and Victoria drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles. One of the interesting places was Hollywood. They visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame where they found lots of their favorite celebrities’ stars on the sidewalk.

From the top of the Ferris wheel, beautiful Venice Beach, a ride on the helicopter, San Diego Zoo, historical place of Gaslamp District, Griffith Park , Angels Flight, and many other places, to last but not least Uncle’s Phil’s party, it was an amazing holiday for Paris and her family. It was also a journey to Los Angeles for both the kids and I as we read this book.

Paris was looking forward for the next trip back to Los Angeles visiting her cousins.

‘Maggie Explores the World of Disabilities’

I had this book titled ‘Maggie Explores the World of Disabilities’ by Jewel Kats which I read first before reading to the kids. It is a learning journey Maggie had with her mummy which was a fun way of learning… Learning can be fun too…

I like the way Maggie’s mummy teach Maggie to understand about disabilities from using the right phrase to address others’ disabilities till understanding their needs. For example, instead of using the word ‘disabilities’ which would be sensitive, Maggie was taught to use the word ‘assistive devices’ . Maggie was taught to ask people with respect by asking “What do you use to help your body?”

Maggie learnt about the following special devices used by different people to assist them in their daily routines:

• Hearing aid
• Wheelchair
• Artificial leg
• Walker
• Communication board
• Cane
• Guide dog
• Arm brace
• Eye patch

Overall, this help Maggie to learn of all the different disabilities each person have and how they go through with their daily routine using tools to assist them to lead to normal life. Each person is special in their own way and need to do things differently. They also need to be respected too like normal people. This book would also help our children to recognize others’ differences with respect and never look down or make fun of others.

‘Will The Courageous: A Story About Sexual Abuse’

It is hard to explain to our kids what it is meant to be sexual abuse. Being innocent and naïve, at time they are too fearful to tell others plus not sure how to explain the situation. Sexual abuse kids will only feel uneasy without realizing what it is…

As parents, we have to be sensitive with our kids by noticing their change of behavior. In this story book "Will The Courageous: A Story About Sexual Abuse" by Amy Barth, Will became a totally different person as his mind was so disturb on what his nanny’s nephew had done on him. He was not sure what was it but he knew he did not feel comfortable. Will was fortunate to have parents and teacher who notice and observe his changes.

This book has given a good understanding to both kids and also parents on how to understand and manage the situation. After reading this book, I as parent must make sure we equip ourselves in educating our kids. Also, we need to take time to be close with our kids to ensure them that we are there for them so that they are feeling secure and not in fear. Be our kids’ good friend whom they can rely and trust on.

It is a great book for me to read with JL on our journey of learning and understanding…

Book Review: Wright on Time series

New kids series was making a hit in US. Mummy got two books which were Wright on Time: Arizona and Wright on Time: Utah. Mummy found that these first two books series were interesting. The story was about a family consists of Harrison (Daddy), Stephanie (Mummy), Nadia (Sister) , Aidan (Brother) and also Prince Pumpkin III, (a 50-year-old turtle extraordinaire) on a roadschool tour of the 50 states in US on their Recreational Vehicle (RV).

Both Nadia and Aidan were homeschooled by their parents. Mummy Stephanie was a telecommuting computer expert who had a flexibility of working in the RV while Daddy Harrison was writer and linguistics expert. Nadia was a smart and curious 11-year-old girl while her brother Aidan was a fun and lively 7-year-old boy.

The first location was to Arizona where they explored a desert cave and discovered the bats, variety of minerals. Next was at Utah joining the dinosaur dig searching for allosaurus bones. By just reading these two books had already opened up Mummy’s eye to a different type of adventures which was educational RV roadschool tour. More families were embarking into homeschooling the kids. Mummy strongly recommended this series because it would be educational and by the end of the series, we would have travelled to 50 states learning about the different and uniqueness of each state.

Family Photos…Our Dream

We hardly had any photo shots as family from any professional photographers. It had been our dream to have photo shots taken by professional photographers. Mummy had always admired other people photo shots taken during pregnancy, newborn and family. It would be a dream comes true if we had the chance to have our family photos taken by TwoPixels Photography

Mummy witnessed photos taken recently for Baby Bradley (Aunty Paik Ling’s cutie boy) at her house. Last year, Mummy also got the chance to see them on action taking photos of Baby Justin (Aunty Sasha’s charming boy) which was also in her house. Not forgetting the photos taken for Chin Nee’s pregnancy and twins (newborn) and twins.

It was awesome having two wonderful motherly mummies, Jazzmint and Sue taking the photos because they just had the motherly instinct of knowing how to take the photos naturally. It was something hard to explain but it was the experience which really captured Mummy’s heart especially when Mummy was there looking at them taking the shots and viewing all the outcome of the photo shots.

Another two of mummy’s ex-colleagues too engaged them for their newborn baby girls’ photo shots which were so lovely:

The Baby Bliss

The Baby Bliss ---the ‘new kid on the block’ joining the online business. Everyone likes to shop online now especially like Mummy who hardly got time to shop. Online shopping is indeed a great way to hunt and shop for things. Being a mum, Mummy has never got bored to hunt and see anything related to our babies/kids.

When the kids are growing so fast, Mummy always loves dress up both Jeriel and Ariel up, so hunting for a good bargain is always Mummy’s priority. Kids’ clothes can be more expensive than adults.

The interesting part is there is a section on 2nd Hand Items (Wanted/For Sale).
