2005 Christmas

This year Christmas was very simple. On 24 Dec 2005, we had dinner in my brother-in-law’s apartment (which happen to stay just 3 floors above our apartment). Besides my MIL , Othniel’s SIL (inc little baby) and Othniel’s youngest brother, both my sisters,my youngest sister’s boyfriend and a few close friends joined us. My BIL was in US due to work. My parents also couldn’t make it due to flood. My parents house was flooded up in North.

Jeriel got the opportunity to open one present given by his MahMah (Othniel’s mother) on Christmas Eve. It was a Ukulele (it is a small guitar with 4 strings instead of 6 strings). So, Jeriel sat next to his PaPa with his Ukulele while his PaPa played guitar singing Christmas Carols. Jeriel went around showing off his ukulele which he called ‘titar’ (guitar).

We ate, sang and chat until 12midnite. Then, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !!!! All of us started to open our presents.

On Christmas Day, we went to Putra Stadium , Bukit Jalil to attend Christmas Celebration (Church Combined Christmas Celebration). Jeriel slept during the Drama Presentation which consisted of kids as young as 8 years old. After the drama, the kids will proceed to a designated room for party. Even though the party was for 3 years and above, well, Jeriel’s teacher (Nursery Teacher) said Jeriel can join….Jeriel woke up from his short nap on time for his party.

According to his teacher , Jeriel sat and watched puppet show. He was fascinated and amused by the puppets. Then he finished up a whole packet of teddy biscuits. After that, he was running around with all the ‘kor kor’ (big brother) and ‘jie jie’ (big sister).

After listening to Christmas message from Pastor, Othniel and I went to the VIP Room to fetch Jeriel from his party. He was very happy. We went for lunch then back home…and zzzzzzzz (because we woke so early that morning).

Dinner, we went to Othniel’s SIL’s apartment and ate the leftover food. After dinner, my sisters (and their boyfriends) dropped by our apartment to open presents which were under our Christmas Tree…Guess who has the most gifts ? Jeriel had the most gifts…

My youngest sister did a big mistake by asking Jeriel to open her presents first. It was Jeriel Christmas Wish--- a helmet. He started to wear the helmet and cycled his bicycle. It took us quite a long time to persuade him to open the rest of his presents…

• IKEA Bench+Storage (Jeriel TaiPak & TaiPakLeong – Othniel’s eldest brother)
• Handmade Patch Blanket (Jeriel’s nanny)
• Books, WaterGun (Jeriel loves to take bath because of this), Shirts, Socks, etc…(Jeriel’s friends)

On 26 Dec 2005, we decided to fetch my maternal grandmother (who was down here from Alor Setar) for lunch. We went for a simple Bak Kut Teh in Subang Jaya. My grandmother was so happy to see her great-grandson. At night , we just went for a walk in 1Utama.

That was how we celebrated our Christmas in 2005 !!!!
