It was a very busy weekend with my colleagues. The night before we were in Borneo Rainforest Café, the following day, we went to Kuala Selangor.
We met in Saujana, Subang and left for Kuala Selangor about 4pm.
We reached Kuala Selangor about 5.15pm and proceeded to Bukit Melawati.
We took a train ride up to the Bukit Melawati and the kids enjoyed feeding the monkeys peanuts.
After a while up the hill, we took the train down and visited my colleague’s parents-in-law house for a wash up. While in the house, we enjoyed walking around the small garden. My colleague’s father-in-law did some planting of fruits and vegetables. The environment in Kuala Selangor was so different than in city. The place was calm and air was much cleaner.
Then, it was dinner time. Guess what, we went to have seafood…crabs, fish etc…yummy and yummy.
After a heavy dinner, we went to Kampung Belimbing to see Fireflies. It was a great experience for all of us especially the kids. We had to queue quite sometime for our turn to sit on a 30-minutes boat ride.
Some information from the internet about Fireflies
*****
Fireflies are also called Lightning Bugs. Fireflies are soft bodied beetles which sizes range from 5 to 25 millimeters in length. On the underside of the abdomen it has a special light organ that glows in luminous flashes. The flattened, dark brown or black body is often marked with yellow or orange. Most of the fireflies feed on pollen and nectar but for adult fireflies they do not eat.
How the firefly light is produced? They are produced under a nervous control within special cells which are richly supplied with air tubes. Only the light from the visible spectrum is emitted.
Fireflies do not bite, do not have pincers, do not carry disease and in fact they are quite harmless. They cannot even fly fast. They have a life span of two months. Unfortunately, some frogs like to eat them.

Then…off home sweet home. We arrived back to our apartment about 11.30pm….
