Big Spring Cleaning

Last long weekend, PaPa and Mummy decided to have a major spring cleaning in our mini office cum storeroom. This was to make the room neater so that we can introduce Jeriel with computer. Yes, Jeriel never play computer before (only the spoilt notebook). Funny, everyone introduce kids with computer as early as possible but not Jeriel.

Mummy got this tip from a friend who advised against introducing computer. She said introduce books first to make them fall in love with books then only introduce computer. Once computer is introduced first, then it is hard to get kids to fall in love with books. Why? Books are not as interactive as computer. Based on her experience, she regretted introducing computer to her son because her son refused to read books. It took her quite some time to make her son loved books. Kids would be able to learn using computer very fast even computer is introduced later.

Ok, now back to the original story. We took out all the things to our small dining cum living area. The amount of mess and dust was really flying around the whole apartment, was unimaginable. PaPa used to travel a lot and bring back lots of laundry plastic bags. PaPa and Mummy went through every bit of documents/things and started to shred unused but important documents using mini paper shredder (which was a Christmas gift in 2006). It was tedious but worth it. We threw more than 5 big bags of shredded papers daily for 3 days. Then sorted out some stuffs which we can donate to the charity box and recycle bins. PaPa also sorted up lots of good, thick boxes. We decided to keep only a few and remaining passed to our friend who would be moving soon.

It is not 100% done yet but we are pleased that at last Mummy can see the floor (last time the floor was full of things) and Jeriel started to play some online computer games – Playhouse Disney.

There are a few more boxes to go through by PaPa. Then we need to label all the files and boxes. Hope we can complete and clean up the whole apartment by this week…

I let my children read book very early, but not the computer first. Rupa-rupanya it will 'spoil' the kids if introduce the computer first. Lucky me, my kids all love to read very much and play computer too(but in the time i fixed).

We just clean up our computer table and room..hehe..long holiday nothing to do so must patt our butt to work.

I introduced computer to my ds when he was 2, no choice coz daddy used to travel a lot and we communicated using internet. Lucky ds loves book now.

I never let him play computer game, usually only let him browse photo albums or some pictures, when he was crazy about butterfly, I would search and added them to favourite, he got his own folder at the favourite menu.
