After the incident in 2006, Mummy was very sad and it was hard to explain to Jeriel who kept asking ‘Why so long one?’ However, we believed what happen was out of our control and we only can trust God for the right time.
While Mummy was taking time to rest after the procedure in September 2006, all sudden in Nov 2006, Mummy got a call from headhunter for a job. Mummy went for the interview and got the job almost immediately which surprised Mummy. When Mummy officially joined the new company on 1 March 2007, we decided to put on hold our plan for baby no2 because Mummy was supposed to help in a project which need a lot of time. Mummy did spend quite long in the office.
It was until almost end of 2007 when the project was almost ok that we decided to try. Mummy also got confirmed as a staff by then. It was quite a stress moment for first few months. Every time when Mummy’s period came, Mummy would cry. Why, it took so hard to conceive compared to the last two? Mummy tried to focus more to God and pray hard for the right timing. Maybe it was not the time..
End of Nov 2007, Mummy was feeling a lot of cramp and discomfort that Mummy thought that was the end of getting pregnant. However, Mummy’s period didn’t come after a few days and Mummy was still feeling cramp. We did home test 2X and found positive.
Mummy sms Dr and he insisted that Mummy should go and see him. Mummy was seeing Dr for almost every week until the Dr was able to detect the heartbeat. Mummy was asked to take Duphaston due to my past miscarriage. Dr was having trouble detecting heartbeat at about 5+ weeks due to Mummy was experiencing bad indigestion and gassy stomach, thus the scan showed that Mummy’s stomach was hazy. The small heartbeat was only able to detect via vaginal scan. After 6 weeks check up, the next check up was 8 weeks and Mummy was asked to stop Duphaston but continue with Centrum and Folic Acid. That short period indeed cost us a lot of money.
This pregnancy has caused Mummy to feel so sick till the indigestion has cause heart burn. From heart burn, Mummy was experiencing chest tightness which Mummy has problem sleeping almost every night until Dr has to give Mummy medication to ease the discomfort and made Mummy drowsy. The 2 weeks off which Mummy took for Christmas was like a Medical Leave for Mummy. Mummy could not go anywhere as it becomes worst towards night time.
Mummy has to avoid oily and greasy food. When Mummy was pregnant with Jeriel, Mummy just loved fish. Now, Mummy cannot even imagine the word fish as it will make Mummy feels sick. Besides this, Mummy started to have backache and guess, age is catching up for Mummy.
Stamina is totally out this pregnancy. Last pregnancy, Mummy was very active but this pregnancy, Mummy gets tired soo fast. Even when we walked around in shopping mall, Mummy will be finding place to sit while Jeriel and PaPa walked around.
All in all, Mummy did feel hopeless and not use to just sit down doing nothing.
However, in the opposite view, all these means good news that body is adjusting with the pregnancy, which is why Mummy is facing all this..Maybe different pregnancy has different experiences, so Mummy cannot compare this pregnancy with Mummy was pregnant with Jeriel.
24 Jan 2008, Mummy had 12 weeks checked-up. This time, Jeriel also came along to see the baby scan. Dr did a nuchal scan without extra charge by measuring baby’s nuchal bone and calculated Mummy’s conceived age to detect sign of Down Syndrome. The result instant and was 0.2%. So Dr said Mummy did not need to do the next final test which was a blood test (cost about RM 550) since it was only 0.2%. This is a new way to check Down Syndrome without having to poke Mummy’s stomach. During Jeriel’s time, Dr said Mummy was not required to do this test.
Now Mummy on different supplement and hope that all the indigestion will get better soon. Even now while writing this post, Mummy is still experiencing stomach discomfort.
Summary as on 24 Jan 2008
- Week : 12 weeks
- EDD : 06 Aug 2008 (Dr said aiya miss by 2 days to 080808)
- Mummy's weight : 52.9kg
