Gong Xi Gong Xi 2008

This year CNY is simpler. And today is the 15th day of CNY which means the last day for CNY 2008.

06 Feb08 (Eve of CNY)
Mummy was working for ½ day while Jeriel and PaPa were at home. This year we were in-charge to do Yee Sang and Tong Sui. Mummy still cannot stand the frying smell so MahMah said we better don’t do any major cooking in out apartment. PaPa decided to boil ‘Fu Chuk Pak Kor Yee Mai’ (Gingko Barley). Whole morning, Jeriel was busy helping PaPa to open the Gingko. After lunch, Mummy helped to clean up the Gingko. PaPa and Jeriel fetched Mummy and we had lunch in KFC Giant Kelana Jaya.

This was the 1st time PaPa boiled ‘Fu Chuk Pak Kor Yee Mai’ and accidentally got the ‘Fu Chuk’ stuck on the bottom part of the pot while boiling. So the ‘Fu Chuk Pak Kor Yee Mai’ had a bit of burnt smell. However last night (16Feb08), PaPa boiled again and this time very good…Thumb Up….

Reunion dinner was in Tai Pak’s apartment (just upstairs). This year, KongKong, PohPoh and Yi Yee would be joining reunion with Sam Yee Cheong’s family (which was also in the same apartment but higher floor). KongKong, PohPoh and Yi Yee would take turn joining reunion with different family – this year with Sam Yee Cheong’s family and next year PaPa’s family, then following year Sam Yee Cheong’s family).

We had quite a feast, all home-cooked food especially by Tai Pak who is a good cook. Then we started to plan that we should plan properly the meal next year to avoid wastage. Hi hi…planning for 2009 CNY Reunion…

07Feb08 (1st Day of CNY)
Early morning we met Tai Pak, Tai Pak Leong, MahMah and Topaz in a mamak shop in PJ State for Breakfast.

After breakfast, we went to Thai Kow Kong’s house in Jln Gasing where we met Ah Thai, Tai Kow Kong & his family and Yi Kow Kong.

Then we proceeded to Ku Poh’s house for lunch in Cheras. Since it will be a late lunch, PaPa stopped at KFC PJ State to get two small Deli Burgers for Mummy and Jeriel to eat. We ate as PaPa drove to Cheras. There, Jeriel had fun with Ku Poh’s grandchildren (2 girls) who are actually Jeriel’s cousin too.

After having fun, it was time for lunch. Then we stayed on to chit chat till evening. Jeriel slept in his carseat while on the way home.

That night, we went to KongKong and PohPoh’s place for dinner with Yi Yee, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong.

08Feb08 (2nd Day of CNY)
That day, we have lunch appointment with Ku Poh again in Cheras (Ku Poh usually cooked for 2 days for everyone to eat). This time, KongKong and PohPoh would also join us.

Before we went to Cheras, we drop by Ampang to visit another Tai Kow Kong (mummy’s side) or actually Jeriel called him Ku Kong Chor (in Hokkien).

After lunch in Ku Poh’s house, we rested for a while and went back for a short nap. We had simple dinner at KongKong and PohPoh’s place (just heat-up leftover food). Then we went to Go(5) E Poh’s condo in Taman Tun with KongKong, PohPoh, Yi Yee, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong. Some of us chit chat and some played cards. Go E Poh had 2 teenager daughters (Jeriel’s aunties) who had fun with Jeriel.

09Feb08 (3rd Day of CNY)
We woke up late on purpose and drove to Sunway for lunch in Yi Kow Kong or 2 Ku Kong in Hokkien’s house with KongKong, PohPoh, Yi Yee, Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong.

That’s how we spent our time on the first three days of the CNY 2008.
