Argh….Mummy’s tummy full of itchy, ugly and red rashes

It had been a very uncomfortable time for Mummy. Mummy found that Mummy’s tummy got some red spot on Wednesday (30 Apr 2008) night. It was itchy, red and sore. PaPa thought Mummy got food allergy. Mummy had to air Mummy’s tummy and sms gynae for SOS. Gynae said it was common and asked Mummy to put calamine lotion.

It would be cooling for a while but then itchiness came back. Mummy had to ‘tahan’ not to scratch fearing it would be worst, besides that after scratching, it would not only make it redder but also very very sore. From a few spots became a few big red ugly patches. It was so uncomfortable that Mummy had no mood to do anything including blogging.

Mummy couldn’t take it anymore that Mummy went to gynae today morning. PaPa was working so Mummy went alone. Thanks to Sam Yee and Sam Yee Cheong who helped to babysit Jeriel and took him out for lunch.

Saturday was a crowded day but gynae managed to see Mummy just a few minutes to confirm what he expected. It was confirmed that Mummy was suffering rashes which happen to some pregnant mothers. Mummy was one of the unlucky one. This was the first time Mummy got it because Mummy never experience during 1st pregnancy. Gynae gave mummy ointment to rub on the rashes and also piriton to be taken at night. The piriton would also help to ease Mummy’s nose congestion too. Nose congestion or sinus or wherever it was known as, was also common to some pregnant mummies according to the internet. It was another problem which Mummy didn’t face during the 1st pregnancy. Gynae told Mummy that the rashes would either go off during 3rd trisemester or only after delivery. Mummy was speechless. However, deep in Mummy’s heart. Mummy’s praying very hard that this would go off fast because not only it was uncomfortable especially during hot, sweaty weather, but Mummy missed the most was rubbing the tummy and talking to baby in the tummy.

Can you imagine, how sad Mummy was and is now unable to rub Mummy’s tummy? PaPa and Jeriel also missed rubbing the tummy….

Hey I had that too with Joshua. Sometimes cannot tahan, I also scratch and put some medication given by doctor. Or else cannot sleep especially at night. A lot of people said don't scratch cause it will leave mark next time. I do have some mark till today but I am happy eveytime I see it cause it reminds me of my 2 boys. That's why I did not use any cream to get rid of the strech mark. Sentimental value there.

hey Chanel, i remember approaching my final semester, i occasionally rub my tummy with mothercare's massage cream...before that i used palmer's cocoa butter formula.
then i started to hv red rashes on my tummy...when my gynae saw the rashes, she immediately asked me to stop whatever lotion i'm putting on mu tummy!
so hv you been switching to any creams/lotions for the tummy? probably they dont suit you...

hey Chanel, I experienced it badly during my 1st pregnancy. I avoided bathing in too hot water and I applied lots of pure Vitamin E oil (can get from pharmacy). It's because you are thin and now your stomach expanding quickly. My 2nd one don't have cos my skin already expanded by my fats ! :)
