Crustless Quiche

When we bought the Pyrex tray for less than RM20, I started to look for recipe on how to make quiche. PaPa and the kids didn’t know what quiche was. I found this crustless quiche recipe which was quite simple. I tried using spinach and mushroom on last Saturday (25Feb2012) for teatime.

1. Sauté and season mushroom and spinach. Estimate about almost 2 cups for 9” pan

2. Spread the sauté ingredients into the pan.

3. Spread shredded cheese on the sauté ingredients.

4. To make the custard, whisk in a bowl 4 eggs with about 1 cup of liquid (cream, milk, soy milk or combination).Seasoning such as pepper and herbs can be done here or during sauté the ingredients time.

5. Pour the custard over the sauté ingredients.

6. Bake in a pre-heat oven about 190 C for about 30-45minutes

7. Check at ½ hour by inserting fork or knife (which will come out clean). The aim to have the outside done with centre soft.

JL loved it…and requested for more… I will be trying another type of quiche soon…

looks good. This thing about handling slippery heavy glass pyrex, wont it be easier to bake with a stainless steel bowl?

Chinnee: prefer glass cos easier to cut without worrying scratching the stainless steel...
