2007-07-07 - Ipoh Trip and Jeriel’s 1st Durian

My colleagues decided to go to Gopeng, Ipoh on 7 July 2007 for Water Rafting and then durian session. Unfortunately, Mummy could not make it for the Water Rafting and could only join the durian session. PaPa remembered there was a durian orchard near Gopeng.

We left PJ only after lunch and Jeriel slept throughout the journey to Ipoh. We meet the rest in the rest stop on the North-South Highway. However, we got ourselves lost during hunting for the orchard. At last we settled with the durians at the roadside. We also bought some mangoesteens (manggis) which were very nice and sweet.

After eating durian and buying mangoesteens, my colleagues decided to go back and buy pomelos on the highway. As for us, we decided to visit our Poly Christian Fellowship (PCF) advisor who is also Polytechnic Ungku Omar lecturer. If some of you remember, PaPa and Mummy met in PCF from a previous story. So, Ipoh actually brought a lot of memories to both of us.

It has been quite some time since the last time we visited them. The last time we were in Ipoh as a family was in Nov 2004.

Jeriel had great fun playing with their youngest and only son Gregory (Greg). We had dinner and chit chatting until 11pm plus. We left Ipoh and arrived PJ just 5 minutes before 2am.
