Most of the places will try to omit displaying number 4 by replacing with 3A. Even number 14 also will be replaced by 13A. Generally Chinese do not like number 4 because number 4 means ‘die’ in Chinese.

Jeriel is so observant! I know of some housing projects who won't even have any "4" in the house number, hence number 24 becomes 23A, 14 becomes 13A...hey wait...isn't 13 taboo for some people too?

a lot of Chinese believe that the number "4" is not a lucky number...you can hardly see any Chinese driving a car with the number plate XXX 4444
I also notice no 13th floor but 12A. Hrmm...
