Keeping warm

Traditionally, in cold weather each house would have a fireplace to burn some woods to keep the place warm and cozy. As time pass, things changed where house is installed with electric heater to keep the home warm. When we were in Philips Island renting a cabin, the owner provided us with heated blanket to keep us warm while sleeping.  There are a lot of traditional house which still has the fireplace which eventually become redundant. With fireplace insert using either electric or gel which is more cost effective and cleaner, it bring back the traditional setting of warmth at home with the fireplace becoming alive. It is a nice option rather than having the black empty place left abandon.
