Remember JL ‘boycott’ from going to school in my previous blog ?
Thanks to my parents. My mother and the headmistress became friends when we went to the open day last year. The headmistress was shocked to find that JL was missing for almost 1 month. She immediately called me to discuss how to solve this matter. Hmmm..after 1 month to bring JL back to kindy was a big hassle for me because I cannot take off due to my new job and PaPa was always in outstation.
Later, my mom(PohPoh) volunteered to take off from her job in Butterworth. (my mom is helping to run a kindy in Butterworth) for 1 week to help JL up with my dad (KongKong).
It all started on 9 April 2007 (Monday). JL refused to wear his uniform and was crying. At the end, he wore normal clothes and refused to enter the car because he didn’t want to go to school. Then we promised him not going to school but instead sending Mummy to office in Subang. About 1 hour later, PohPoh told me they are in the kindy which caught to my surprise. PohPoh handphone was ringing and JL asked why. PohPoh said that Teacher Mxxxy was asking for JL and asked JL can they drop by the kindy to say hi. JL nodded his head and started to show KongKong the direction to the kindy. They stayed there for about 1 hour then JL requested to leave because KongKong was waiting alone outside.
So as a reward, KongKong and PohPoh brought JL to McDonald for lunch. Headmistress gave JL a birthday boy sticker because he didn’t go to kindy on his birthday (remember the cake and party bag we prepared for 19 March 2007?). JL informed his headmistress that he would bring a cake the next day.
We went out to buy a cake after fetching me from office. That night, KongKong and PohPoh started to pack party bag.
10 April 2007 (Tuesday)
JL still refused to wear uniform. PohPoh must stay in the class to accompany JL but at least JL stayed there for the whole session. JL celebrated his belated birthday in kindy.
11 April 2007 (Wednesday) & 12 April 2007 (Thursday)
JL wore only the uniform pants. PohPoh stayed in the class half of the time with JL. The other half JL was in the class without PohPoh. PohPoh walked around the kindy.
13 April 2007 (Friday)
JL wore full uniform at last. He went into the class alone and waved bye bye to KongKong and PohPoh. KongKong and PohPoh were just hanging around until kindy was over. They visited Nanny and at first JL refused to go to Nanny’s house after 1 week with KongKong and PohPoh.
PohPoh was going back to Butterworth…PaPa and Mummy were scratching our heads what were going to happen the following week… KongKong volunteered to drive Mummy to work and JL to kindy every morning (it is a very long journey and jam). KongKong would wait at the around the kindy until JL finished his class, then KongKong would send him to Nanny’s house. KongKong would then go back home, then drove later in the evening to fetch JL before the traffic jam started.
Contingency plan in case JL wanted to follow KongKong back instead of staying at nanny’s house. KongKong would stay back and wait for JL to take lunch plus bath. Then JL followed KongKong back to home. KongKong would bring tiffin carrier to pack JL’s dinner.
….to be continue…..

What supportive Kong Kong and Poh Poh Jeriel have!!
I'm sure they be able to successfully coax him back to school!
Shouldn't worry too much...Jeriel will grow out of it...he will love the school soon...
Don't worry, i believe Jeriel will outgrow this problem..
What happen to your nanny? Friendly teachers or principal do make a difference.
Salute to Kong Kong. U are one lucky woman.
No worries, no worries, I'm sure Jeriel will outgrow his 'fear' to go to school.
