Preparation for Baby No2 Part 3: Cloth Diaper

TFor this baby, Mummy planned to use cloth diaper. It would be a combination of traditional napkin and modern cloth diaper.
Mummy had tried on Jeriel wearing at night for more than one year. PaPa and Mummy was happy with it and didn't mind the hassle to wash the cloth diaper. Jeriel now officially potty train both day and night. He was already potty trained during daytime since 2 years old. We tried to train him for night time but it was doing quite well till Mummy got miscarriage during PaPa was in outstation for 2 weeks plus. Then, PaPa said just stop and since we were using cloth diaper, we didn't have to worry about spending money on disposable diaper. Jeriel trained by himself by keeping the diaper dry for about 3 weeks and for past 3 weeks, he was diaperless at night. Even though maybe quite late but then at least he made it.. Now all the cloth diaper would be transferred for baby to use.

Mummy started to slowly collecting some used and second hand diapers. Recently, Mummy got PaPa’s Yee Ma (Jeriel’s Yee Poh) to bring back 5 Wahmies One Size Diapers, 5 Drybees Fitted Diapers and 1 Wool Cover from US. Mummy ordered in US and paid using paidpost money. Mummy shy to ask her to bring extra and all diapers were without inserts. Mummy planned to get inserts from Malaysia later one. Besides that, Mummy was touched when one of Mummy's friend decided to give to Mummy a few modern cloth diapers with inserts without taking a cent from Mummy because her girl didn't need them anymore. Mummy wanted to pay some (because these cloth diapers were not cheap) but she refused to accept.

Mummy is still slowly collecting and buying used diapers but with cautious not to overspend or overbuy. Mummy got PaPa’s support as long as Mummy don’t overspend as financially we are quite tight.

There are a few more things which Mummy hasn’t got to complete the Cloth Diaper mission.
Why Cloth Diaper?
  • Healthy to skin (Mummy had scary moment when Jeriel was a baby with bad nappy rash even with expensive diapers and changed often)
  • Save money in long term (PaPa and Mummy would always buy in bulk during sales and the whole apartment was like diapers warehouse during Jeriel's time)
  • Environmental friendly

This is another Mummy’s ambition which Mummy hopes Mummy can achieve together the Breastfeeding Mission. Hopefully….

initially it is an expensive investment, it is for long term. I usually get 2nd hand ones which is cheaper..

Thanks for the wishes..

3-4 will not be enough unless mix with disposable ..it is all depends of which type of cloth diaper used. there are a lot of type..

I'm using cloth diapers during the daytime now and it's saved us a lot of money.

Lucas is also more willing to wee on the toilet compared to when he's in disposables :)

Wow, you're so lucky someone gave you their old stash! I have to buy each precious one... :P
