AL’s 3rd Birthday – Part 2 (20July2011)

It was her actual birthday. PaPa and I took day off to collect her cupcakes for her kindy. Since she had only a handful of classmates, we had the mini celebration together with KorKor’s Anching’s classmates who were just upstairs of the kindy.

After a simple birthday song, eating cupcakes and distribution of mini party bags, the kids had their snack time. PohPoh got the kindy Aunty to cook fried noodles. AL left her kindy early with PaPa and me after getting permission from her teacher.

We went home and got AL changed. We went to MidV where she requested for white pasta. We had her birthday lunch in TGIF where she got her free white pasta and also free cake. She was so shy when the group of staffs in TGIF was singing birthday song. The service there was not impressive including when one of the staff promised AL for a balloon but it ended up we need to remind him when AL was asking where her balloon was.

We walked around MidV and went to the mini amusement park in Jusco. AL preferred to play with the car without putting the chip. We had to keep all the chips we bought and maybe she would be willing to play with KorKor. Next stop was Toys R Us where AL was having fun with the toys.

After MidV, we went home to wait for KorKor. Our dinner with KorKor was at Sakae Sushi in Sunway Pyramid. AL had her favorite Ramen and Edamame. We walked for a while and back home because both kids had school to go the next day.

AL, hope you had a happy day… We love you always…. Happy Birthday to you our princess….

AL’s 3rd Birthday – Part 1 (16July2011)

Yes, she is already 3.

I still remember it was less than 1 hour when I went into the labor room when she came into the world on 20July2008 at 1218. PaPa didn’t make it on time to witness it because everything happened too fast.

She was different than her KorKor. However, she got all the love and attention from her KorKor who loved her a lot. For time being, she was the princess to everyone being the only rose among the 3 (soon 4) immediate cousins. PaPa’s elder brother (Tai Pak) would be having his 3rd boy this September and so far no new addition on Mummy’s family side yet.

AL’s celebration started earlier. On 16July2011, we collected AL’s cupcakes from Aunty Jo for her church toddler celebration at that evening. Yes, she specifically requested for Angry Bird theme few months ago. It was very simple just cupcakes and small party bags.

After that, we went to SJ to collect her Angry Bird Jelly. She wanted a blue Angry Bird Jelly. She loved Jelly more than Cake. I found this website since last year and AL remembered her pink Jelly Cake we got her when she was 2. I was happy to find that it had blue Angry Bird. Sharon from JellyCakeHouse helped to add addition base at the bottom of the blue Angry Bird with some extra cost. It was indeed very heavy.

It was a simple regular immediate family gathering in our small apartment. The guests had simple food which was jelly cake and also Haji Samuri Sate.

AL was blessed with all the wonderful grandparents, uncles and aunties who showered her (and also JL) during all the birthdays and Christmas. She had a lots of wonderful gifts that she was confused that night on which one to play first. She had all she wanted including Nerf Gun, Miss Mouse, Vanity Table, beautiful clothes and also Angry Birds soft toy.

To be continue….

Sharp Knives…

I had always problem in getting good sharp knives. It was a challenging especially some knives could be pricey too. We started with a cheap set of knives which survived quite some time until about last year when the medium size one started to get blunt.

We were thinking maybe to invest brand Z which had life-time warranty. Upon checking, we realized that the brand Z was no longer providing life-time warranty. Instead of buying the fully imported brand Z, we got brand Z but a cheaper version made in China. So far till now it worked well. We had already changed the regular medium size one and also the chopper. When would be the next one?

If only our kitchen knives are able to be changed like the utility knife which can be replaced or with a strip of blades which can be snapped off when worn out or blunt.

Visiting Rehabs in Malaysia

I had a church member who shared to me about how she had to travel round the country visiting the several rehabs in Malaysia. It was part of her job to review the rehabs and going through all the cases on periodic basis. Most of the rehabs were located outskirts. Are the rehabs here similar to the one in overseas such as the famous california rehabs? Together with other friends, we prayed for her that God would give her strength for all the travelling she had to go through.

Following my pregnant colleague in ambulance to hospital…

This is an outdated sharing… It would be an experience which I would never forget.

About 1 month ago, I had breakfast with my two colleagues and one of them was 7-month pregnant. It was Friday. In between, my pregnant colleague wanted to go toilet while another colleague and I were taking our drink. As we were finishing our drink, from far, I saw my pregnant colleague was waving at me from the cafeteria entrance and pointing the floor below here.

Something told my heart that something was wrong. I rushed to her and found that her water bag was leaking. Calmly, I told her to give a call to her gynae that she was on the way to hospital. She wanted to go toilet while I called the other colleague from the cafeteria. I went to the department to collect her handbag and also inform our department secretary. Our department secretary called for our company ambulance to send us to the hospital while another colleague drove her car to the hospital to fetch me back to office.

One of the company nurses followed me in the ambulance comforting her. The nurse even called the hospital A & E to get them ready. I followed her from A & E (including registering her) till the labor ward. Another colleague accompanied me outside the labor ward while we were waiting for our pregnant colleague’s husband. Once her husband arrived, we passed to him her handbag and went into the labor room to say goodbye.

I have been keeping in touch with her husband on the progress. She was injected twice to speed up her baby’s lung maturity and also on antibiotic to avoid infection since her water bag was leaking. She managed to hold on till almost midnight on Sunday that she was sent for emergency c-section as her baby was on breach position. Her baby who was about 1kg was placed in the incubator in NICU until recently she was out of incubator at 1.2kg. We were hoping that her baby would gain weight at least to minimum 1.8kg in order to be discharged and back to home sweet home.

While baby was in the NICU, she (the baby’s mother) was working very hard pumping breast milk sending to the hospital daily for her baby’s consumption. I also know she was checking on insurance and I hope she would get the best insurance, i.e. medical quotes, life quotes, term life insurance quotes etc... I hope she would have an honest agent giving her the best quotes.

On top of all, I pray that her baby would be home soon…

New Rubber Mats for JL’s room...

We used to have alphabets mat which we ended up giving away because JL would take it all apart and we ended up trying to fix up the puzzles. Than we found a plain small one in multi color which we placed in AL’s room.

Recently, we found bigger pieces which were selling at RM59.90 for 4 pieces. The best thing was all 4 pieces were in same color unlike the previous would be a mix of 2 colors. Besides that, we found that these rubber mats were thicker and it was labeled as yoga mats. We got a set of 4 and placed them in JL’s room. JL loved having the mats because he was able to sit down and do his reading warmly instead of sitting on the cold tiles.

Pre-pregnancy weight

My colleague gave birth a year ago and she was concerned with her weight. She was very discipline with her diet and within one year, she managed to achieve her goal. During the whole year process, there were up and down. She was demotivated at times when her weight loss was stagnant at certain points. A few of us keep motivating her and she kept going on without having to take weightloss pills.
Well done my dear friend….

Afternoon day off with Jazzmint and Sharon

Today I took whole day off to see JL’s anching’s teachers and also my yearly eye check… The whole afternoon was a day with Jazzmint and Sharon.

Since my eye check was done earlier than expected, PaPa dropped me at IPC where I spent a long time in Popular Bookstore. Than Jazzmint fetch me where we spent time in LHDN. I went to Public Mutual to get some administration done and off we 3 ladies for our time in 1U.

We had a very late lunch or should I say almost tea time in Canton-I as if we had skipped our lunch and till now I was too full for dinner. It was a much better way to lose weight than having the best weight loss pills. After late lunch, we went for our coffee break.

Even though it was short, we had a great time. I wish it was longer….

Jazzmint... we will miss you…

Gadgets

Are you a gadget savvy person?

For my case is a ‘no’. Even with my current smart phone, it was my beloved hubby who did the survey. Now, I rely a lot to my hubby on the functions of the phones. Yes, PaPa loves all these gadgets but he has yet indulged himself into other things such as golf and gps. Whether will he in future is still a big question mark…

Muscle

I met my school friend whom I didn’t meet for a long time. He used to be a skinny short guy during schooling time but now he had muscle. He must have work very hard taking weigh to increase his muscle in gym or did he buy testoripped to build his muscle or maybe both. However, he did look much better than last time.
