Facial Experience to share…

Mummy stopped doing facial for many years until recently, on Mummy’s birthday, Mummy decided to try Sam Yee’s regular facial place. After 3 months, 3x of facial, Mummy was happy with this lady. She was nice and no hard selling on her product. However, best of all it was reasonable. The first 2 months facial was just a basic facial which was less than RM40 per session of about 1 ½ hour. The 3rd time was with treatment which was about RM80 only. She managed to clear almost all the visible oil seeds especially blackheads on nose.

Her centre was a simple small, cozy place and she had many regular customers. Her weekend was usually full house that Mummy usually booked for either 7am or 8am slot on Saturdays. By the time Mummy completed the facial, Mummy would be home on time when the kids woke up.

Mummy is getting not any younger, so better pamper own self a bit once a month...it is not too expensive right?

Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary 20Dec2010

This holiday, Mummy didn’t have time to plan anything for the kids due to work and exam. It was sad and Mummy felt guilty. Last minute, Mummy managed to take leave on 20Dec2010 (Monday) while PaPa made that day free to bring the kids to Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary after reading Agnes’s blog and Jazzmint’s blog about this place.

That morning, PaPa was having purging and Mummy wanted to postpone the trip but PaPa insisted that we should because both kids were looking forward to see elephants. KongKong followed us there too since PohPoh was out of town.

We started our journey about 8am. It was a gloomy and wet weather. After the last toll, we turned back to Karak for early lunch. We ate chicken rice. After lunch, we went to Elephant Sanctuary.

We were early. PaPa filled up the registration form and gave some cash donation. The receptionist gave us 3 Yellow Stickers and 2 Red Stickers because she was trying to spread the distribution of the Yellow Stickers. The Yellow Stickers included Elephant Ride and Elephant Bath, whereas the Red Stickers were for Visitors only. KongKong did not want to get wet so he took the Red Stickers with AL.

We were walking around seeing the elephants. Then we went to a video documentary on ‘How the elephants were rescued?’

The activities started about 2pm with Elephants Show and follow-up with Elephants Feeding. JL was afraid to feed the elephants. Then we queued for our turn to ride on the elephant. PaPa, Mummy and JL sat on an elephant together. It was our first time sitting directly on the elephant skin.

Last but not least was the Elephant Bath. PaPa didn’t join this activity due to his back injury. Mummy accompanied JL by sitting on the elephant in the river. The elephant would than just drop itself. Mummy was holding JL’s armpit to raise him up when we feel into the water. The river water was so cold. JL tried to get close to the elephants but not close enough.

Since it was too cold, he decided to leave the river water. To avoid the jam in the shower room, we went there to get the kids a fast shower. It was a cold shower. Mummy bathed the kids and sent them out to PaPa for change. While Mummy took bath, PaPa changed them and sent the kids with KongKong to the main building because it was raining. PaPa waited for Mummy outside the shower room to go the main building. After that, PaPa drove the car to fetch us home. It was almost 4pm when we left the Elephant Sanctuary.

It was a simple experience for JL with elephants and river. As for AL, she was still too afraid to go close to the elephants.

Christmas 2010 – Setting up Christmas Tree

Another long overdue post after this post … here are some of the photos showing both JL and AL decorating the tree. PaPa set up the tree on 28Nov2010. We let the kids decorate the tree by themselves. They had fun. It will be busy days for us including two family dinners and other gatherings.

Merry Christmas to all of you…and Happy New Year…and Happy Holidays…

Wedding Anniversary

How many of us really take time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and remember our love that brought us together with our spouse? Is it a yearly or only on significant year such as 10th year etc…? Do you spouse shower you with expensive gifts or a simple gesture of love?

At time, it made Mummy think should every day be the days for us to remember our love and not just waiting for occasion such as wedding anniversary and valentine day to remind us. PaPa always tell Mummy that Mummy do not have to wait for special occasion to get something.

Mummy never demand any gifts because Mummy just wanted to be loved and cared all the time which cannot be measured by any gifts. Even as simple as tenth wedding anniversary gift red envelope sealed with PaPa’s love would be a greatest gift far more valuable than anything...

However, being a woman, it has been a dream to own a nice cozy home and a diamond. Mummy hopes one day PaPa and Mummy can go for a holiday just two of us when the kids are bigger... One Day…

Cancer...more cancer news…

How would you feel within less than 1 month, you 2 persons whom you know are suffering with cancer?

This year itself, a few of mummies’ friends (including a lovely+brave mummy and a cheerful colleague) and mummies’ friends’ friends/relatives who suffered with cancer and some already went to be with God. Life is sooo precious.

Last Sunday, we visited KongKong’s elder brother who just got one lung being removed due to cancer. He couldn’t do chemotherapy and had to take expensive medication, maybe due to his old age. It was such sad news because Mummy’s Ah Pek was a nice and patient uncle.

Last week, one of Mummy’s colleagues was admitted for full check-up which ended up having his liver shown to be had spots. While endoscope was being done, he complained pain at his neck and the doctor found his lymph node was swollen. A biopsy was done on his swollen lymph node because a biopsy couldn’t be done on his liver which would cause massive bleeding. This afternoon, during lunch time, we got the news that we didn’t want to hear. His lab test had shown CA Positive.

This colleague had been working and supporting Mummy on this project. Even though the project Mummy had to do alone but he was always there to follow Mummy to a meeting and give his input to assist. He even sms Mummy last Friday when he was in hospital to inform Mummy that he couldn’t make it to yesterday meeting with Mummy.

The whole department was down that even Mummy’s team head who was in overseas for audit assignment was also sad to hear. Mummy’s team head did call Mummy on Friday night to wish Mummy the best for the Saturday exam plus breaking up the news about this colleague whom he knew Mummy was working closely together. Some of the department colleagues had visited him last Thursday and Friday. Some were on the way to visit him today. We were trying to keep to a few small groups to visit him and motivate him. Mummy would either visit him tomorrow or next week when the team head back from his overseas assignment.

Christmas is coming…

This was the most last minute preparation for this year Christmas where all the presents were not completed yet. We would have our regular dinner on 24th at Tai Pak’s house till midnight singing Christmas carols. As on 25th we would be at Sam Yee’s apartment and we would be sure JL would be having fun with Sam Yee Cheong’s wii with all the extra wii accessories playing with PaPa and Sam Yee Cheong. This year, we would be preparing PaPa’s specialty cabonara pasta and simple non-bake cheese cake. Besides that this Sunday night we would be going to a Life Group’s Christmas potluck dinner. It would be a busy busy month for us.

For the first time, Mummy didn’t take long leave like usual because Mummy already took one week off last week for the exam and also Mummy would be taking off on 1st week of January because JL would be in Standard 1 (afternoon school) while AL would be in nursery (morning kindy).

Mummy took photos of JL and AL setting up Christmas tree early this month but yet to download from the camera... Bad Mummy… AL was looking forward to open her presents that she kept telling us that was other people’s presents. We didn't tell her exactly which was her present because she wanted to open the presents immediately.

Smartphones

Mummy got to hide Mummy’s old handphone in the pocket or under some files. Why? It was because everyone in the office was using smartphones even the secretary. Shy, shy… Mummy was really outdated that when people discussed about smartphones and the accessories, Mummy would be lost with all the jargons like ipod shuffle, ipad, htc, android etc... Even the current handphone which Mummy using was also decided by PaPa because Mummy would not know which to get too. Spoilt and confused by choices.

When Mummy getting one? Hmmm.....don't know....

Half stresss+fear reduce....

Today on 11 Dec 2010, at 1pm, Mummy's stressss officially reduced by 50%. After 4 hours exam (from 9am-1pm), it was both mentally and physically tiring…

Hmmm... Why 50%? The result would be out in 8 weeks time...so the fear was still there...

Imagine after soooo many years of didn’t take exam (since uni time), with rusty mind and out of stamina… this was indeed challenging to study at the same time being an employee, a wife and a mother. It was even challenging when Mummy got to self study on a subject which was totally new to Mummy.

So far, on average only 40% of Malaysian candidates would pass this exam. This exam was only held 2 xs in a year throughout the world.

If Mummy didn't pass this exam, then Mummy got to go for Plan B which was to pay the expensive fees again then to re-study and re-take the exam. Sigh sigh….

Mummy already did the exam and now would be the waiting period… Sigh… sigh…

Toes injury

End of last month, Mummy’s department had the department YEP (Year End Program) 2010 for 3 days in Eagle Range Port Dickson. On the first day, it was a Treasure Hunt from Klang Valley to PD. Then a short talk before we had futsal competition on the first day. At night was a Theme Dinner by the pool side with lots of activities.

The 2nd day was a whole day of knowledge sharing by a few external speakers including 2011 Department Plan by our Head of Department. That night after dinner, some of us went for karaoke in Engle Range.

The 3rd day was Go-Kart competition in the morning and we all left home after lunch.

However, Mummy missed the Go-Kart due to toes injury on both side. It was due to unsuitable shape of the shoes which Mummy wore for the whole day on the 1st day from Treasure Hunt to Futsal. That night, Mummy had to wear sandals instead of low cut boots. The following day, Mummy had to wear sandals with office wear. Both toes were so painful especially the right toe under the toe nail was blue black. Mummy’s colleague gave an oil to ease the swell and pain. Since it was a compulsory to wear sports shoes when playing with Go-Kart, so one of Mummy’s team members had to ride 2x on behalf of Mummy. It was a team of 5 where each member had to go 5 rounds then during exchange to next driver, each group had to answer a set of questions before the next driver is allowed to go on track. Each mistake of the question would get penalty of additional time add on the team overall time. Mummy helped with the questions and also cheered up the team.

After the trip, Mummy went to see doctor and was given antibiotic to threat the infections. After 5 days, if it didn’t get better, Mummy would need to remove the nail. Left toe nail was red but no sign of infection unlilke the right toe nail. However, the antibiotic caused a side effect on Mummy that the next day, Mummy had to go back to see the doctor to get the antibiotic changed. After 5 days, the infection was cleared off but the nail was still black. Mummy negotiated with doctor alternative to avoid minor surgery since Mummy’s exam was just around the corner. Doctor said Mummy can leave it and let the nail slowly removed as the new nail grew. It would be a long process and Mummy was not allowed to wear closed up office shoes for time being.

PaPa said Mummy should get a suitable sports shoe and he had already got a pair for Mummy from US which Mummy not sure how it would look like. Would it be branded shoes like nike, addidas response etc? Hmmm… a Christmas surprise? Just got to wait and while keeping Mummy busy with exam…..

A Kid's Prayer --- Our Kids' Prayer

JL learnt this song from the church. It was a very simple song but very beautiful. When he sang this song, Mummy was so touched till Mummy was almost crying deep in Mummy’s heart.

He was singing with full of expression especially at this line “I’ll never forget, never forget”, he would emphasize the word “never forget” and even AL joined along to sing the tune. Hearing them singing brought tears to Mummy’s eyes. Their hearts were soooo pure. AL even tried to follow the prayer in the beginning with a big, loud AMEN.

A little kid’s heart is innocent & pure. Little children are of the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3 & Matthew 19:14)

It was a touching reminder to Mummy…
What was Mummy’s prayer when Mummy was young especially as a young believer and what is Mummy’s prayer now?

Mummy hoped you all would be touched by this song too.

Verse 1:
I want to know You Lord
You are a great big God
I’m young and do not know a lot
Come and be my all

Verse 2:
I want to love You more
Giving you my life and all
You died for me
You sacrificed
I won’t forget You Lord

Chorus:
I love You Jesus
I’ll grow up knowing You
I love You Jesus
I’ll grow up serving You
I love You Jesus
My life was saved by You
I’ll never forget, never forget
I’ll grow up loving You
